Not sure how I feel about that oil cooling duct or how comfortable that seat is but none the less, pretty slick ride.

Is the frame polished or something?

in an earlier thread he said he would post some dyno sheets after te motor was broken in. he said he had 200mi. on it and it would be at least 500mi. before the dyno.

im not Jake318 but thats what i got from some previous posts of his.

As far as chassis/general mods there are a couple little things i didnt post . STM slipper clutch is on the way . the penske shock is also being made as we speak. Free spirit belt tensioner is a nice gadget . BUT one thing I forgot is the illenburger fuel cap. Looks great and works great . I dont know if this is the case with all Buells . But both the Firebolt and the 1125r stock locking fuel cap lock felt tight , as if the key was destined to break off in the lock

Riding the bike is NOT a simple task . Imagine a pro stock car . How it idles uneven with the car shaking a bit and the exhaust tone sounding a bit off tune . once your off moving the faster you go the the smoother and more stable it becomes . The 19 row oil cooler air scoop is a godsend as not only does it rush air through the cooler itself, but it also cools the rear cylinder as well . I am thinking the next motor for this bike will be the 08 engine and trying to figure a way to facilitate 2 of the coolers . one left side and one right side. This way i might be able to bump the compression up to 13.5:1. Right now with 120lbs of torque vs the jap superbikes 70lbs , I have more bottom end and better drive off the corners . But if the strait is longer than 1/2 mile they can reel me in and pass( they have about 10-15hp more ). With the 13:5 to 1 compression the torque will stay the same but give enough HP to hold onto the lead/position. I have heard there is someone who makes a lighter flywheel also but havnt found it yet . Also i remember someone selling velocity stacks for the xb . I dont know how well the stacks work . but worth a try anyhow . The bike isnt very streetable , but it was never meant to be . The 1125R is my around town bike . Well have a nice night folks im off to put a trunk on my ktm 990 adventure . Need trunk to hold cloths for the AMA racer in millville nj this weekend . Fellow buellers if your going to the race we will be at the quality inn. feel free to stop and say hello . You cant miss the 1125r being riden by my 6 foot 8 280lbs son have a good holiday Jake

Are you planning on switching out the belt with a chain? Or are you leaving the belt on there? Since you said you were gonna race it and all.

Miz I am buying a chain conversion but dont know which one to get . Each supplier says they have seen better ones than they are selling at the moment and I should wait while they look around . in the mean time I am going to order a variety of drive belt gear sizes from hillbilly in germany

I really enjoy reading about your bike Jake318 & how it rides . The price you pay for performance & practicality is what is in a Racer/HotRodders blood . You have the desire to put up with it or you do not . Thats what makes it exciting . When you have a motor thats so radical it barely idles , but when you apply the power and it feels like the Hand of God is pushing you , then you know its all worth it . The great thing about Buells is they are a great platform for that .

That does sound like a nice build and I'm sure it runs like a scolded dog but...needs some fluff IMO, lol.

Zat the rizona front belt gear cover is fluff lol. It has no real performance purpose . I also got the billet aluminum version from american sportbike when the clear plastic gets scratched up on Rizona piece (its inevitable) the american sportbike piece has changeable carbon fiber cover where the clear plastic piece is on rizona unit

The little craw (right side air scoop ) had to be cut down because the new headers where for racing (48mm) and are adifferent bend than stock . i just ordered anouther one that carbon fiber from american sportbike to take anouther crack at my artistic shaving abilities which arnt the greatist lol. The left side air scoop/19 row oil cooler scoop is the best add on piece I found . the bike cruises around town at 175 degrees and pushed only reaches 200-215(225 at most running HARD) Running cool is the name of the game with these harley motors Jake

very nice!
how do you like the headers from Free Spirits?
I notice you have the tail section on the left side that doesn't match up the airbox cover, why?

Italian yes the 48mm headers do give a performance gain . When you order you have to specify the 48mm headers because the standard headers are 45mm. i read than XB9 are 42?mm headers standard from factory . As far as the tailsection ..I just forgot to put in a bolt lol. its fixed now . I also changed the tank guard to a 8 inch long Keiti pad (solid black looks better and now jacket zipper wont scratch tank ( not worth taking more pics)

I also have new steering head bearings that kick out the rake 1-2 degree. I dont know if a dirt tracker will want the 22-23 degree rake or want the quicker 21 degree rake . I just want a thicker seat!!!

whats the normal running temp on stock? just wondeering if this would be a worthwhile thing on a standard 12r?

really like the bike Jake can immediately see a lot has gone into it : )

Not digging the tail section at all. It hurts my eyes when buell guys kick their tails up like that and this one even seems longer which makes it worse.

I must say the same about your left side air scoop UUHG that is terrible looking. instead of increasing the length to the front of the bike why not keep the length the same and extend the bottom down to the chin fairing? At least then it will flow with the bike and should increase the amount of air. Im not an aero guy so im sure my thought process is wrong here. Not sure the length of your oil cooler which might plan into it as well. If thats the case I would have moved it under your HUGE tail section and cooled it like the 998 duc exhaust.

Its yellow? Reason for this? Just dont understand peoples desire to paint their stuff yellow.

Why you still running blinkers? Is that allowed at the tracks you run?

Hopefully I didnt tick you off with my comments about your look because your engine sounds mean as hell and I would love to hear it let alone ride it (assume you painted it or removed the plastics : D ). I also have not built a race bike and im sure im just retarded about some stuff.

Any other buell guys in the area that have recording skills needs to get a video of this.

Jake you should definitely apologize to cafeelite for having a yellow bike. geez, what were you thinking.

Great bike Jake, you will defnitely have fun with it. There are some styling things that are not my cup of tea, but man what I would do for an engine like that. Have fun and please post any dyno runs you do in the near future.

Cafeelite when you buy your parts you can do your build ANY way you like ....OXY thank you . But actually if I had it my way it would have been ALL carbon fiber . But I couldnt get the force airbox in carbon and although i like the stock form of the tailsection better (one seat model) the seat is too long . The bikes acceleration rips you backward and you need some sort of support . Thats where the uptail came in . It holds you in position . Downside is you have to take the whole tailsection off to check battery , rear shock adjustments ect . Pain in the ass in general

12RRR if I recall correctly 225 was the stock running temp. I beleive I read that here someplace . I put the oil temp gauge on after the mods so im not certain of stock units .

Really NIce ride there Pal...
If was Me I wd. Flat Black that sucker all Out... A real Sleeper....

But Color is nothing anyways.. Its the meat and potatoes... And that Puppy Has it...! Cool

Hold On Torque and as soon as let that Clutch Out...
Whats the Numbers on it again..

Some Dyno graphs wd. be nice and the A/F ratios... Curves

Btw. on the temperature Thing, I believe when setting the TPS its says bring the engine up to 275 Degs. and the fans Don`t come on at this temperatue so. I think they run Hotter than that...Or is it 325 Degs Not sure...I forget don`t do enough of them often enough or just plain OLD age setting in...

I know on my Buddies S.E. 110 his temp. warning light is progam to come on not till 325.Degs.

But we since lowered that to 300 degs.
For what thats worth...!

Hogs the bike only has about 200 miles on it . dan NRHS said I should have at least 500miles on it before putting it through a Dyno test . I copied dans most powerful 88 build at 160 hp and 115 torque then added 48mm racing headers (microns are 45mm BTW if anyone was curious ) factory racing adjustable ecm , XBRR injectors , 52mm throttle body (vs 50mm if that did alot I dont know ) racing 450cfm fuel regulator and a bigger 630/585 split timing racing /torque cams . I need the STM slipper clutch ( on the way supposedly) the engine braking is brutal. I need a far better and smaller rider than myself to race . Downshifting in the corner now has to be dam near perfect. I will do dyno runs ( I have to actually to know what im dealing with racing ) But Can someone post the results on the site after I take a picture of them? My camera takes pics too large to fit onto screen . Thats why Kdog (thanks again) did it for me .
