Sept 5-6. Last WERA Race of the Season. Come out and see me try and win a 2nd Regional Series Championship for 2009!

Oct 23. Ducati Track day, ALL makes welcome just $125. GMD Computrack will be available for $80 for the whole day. Mike Smith will be available for $50 for all day one-on-one instruction.

In case you don't know who Mike Smith is,

Mike Smith of Canton, GA took four AMA Buell Pro Thunder wins during the 2000 season, scoring victories at Road Atlanta, Road America, Pike's Peak and Willow Springs. He has 13 career AMA 600 SuperSport victories (second on the all-time AMA 600 SuperSport win list), an AMA Superbike pole position and a Formula USA Championship to his credit. Smith also has previous experience with the VR 1000. He rode for the Harley-Davidson team in 1998, filling in for an injured Thomas Wilson during the last three rounds of the AMA Superbike series. Smith scored a top-10 finish aboard the VR in 1998 at Las Vegas, posting an 8th place performance. In 1999, he raced the VR 1000 in a one-off ride at Phoenix, replacing Scott Russell.

Dec 26,27 & 28. FLR Track Day. $275 for all 3 days | $200 for 2 days | $125 for Sat or Sun | $100 for Mon. We usually get a couple of Buell riders together for this one!

Foot's a lot better .... just didn't realize I had a broken arm too when I raced the little bike later that day. Cast will be off soon and the 1125 goes to the track hopefully labor day weekend then racing at VIR NOrth with CCS Sept. 19-20.

The HP2 will be fine as well. That was my first off on a road course. Too bad it had to damage an expensive bike. Tucked the front at full lean. No chance to save it the way you have to hang off that beast of a motard.

It's a really nicely sorted out package. I hope we meet at a trackday so you can have a turn on it.

SWEET!

I'll be at Jennings at their New Year's special.
That's the only track day I'm sure of right now.

Tucked the front at full lean.

Maybe a cylinder head pivoted the front off the ground?

That was my biggest fear riding the R1200S at Jennings...

No, the head did not touch. Simply ran out of grip. I had warning though. Front end chatter and a couple of slides. I just let my exuberance get the best of me in pursuit of lower lap times. The bike is pretty raked out for desert racing and I just don't think I could get enough weight over the front. Wrong tool for the application. Sure was fun till the deal went South. Also I was on Bridgestone 003 race DOT race tires which I was not familiar with. I anticipated them acting in a manner like the Pirelli race tires ... and they did not.

I've tracked the HP2 Motard and an R1200S a fair bit and never worried about dragging a head but I will exaggerate knee dragging to let me know where I stand (or lean).

Nice pic. I had a Black one.
