I got a good deal on an 2003 XB9R I already have a 2001 and a 1997 Cyclone my problem is that I'm 6'4" and 120KG's. I've ridden XB's on very short trips but never a long distance. What do you guys think will the long rides on the XB kill me or will my wife get to me first?

If possible find a Lightning Long or STT, they will fit you and your "baggage" better than a standard S or R.

Not that you couldn't do it, I've seen other big guys on 'Bolt before.

Yeah, I was looking for a lighting long but this little firebolt came along at half the price of the Lighting, mind you it is a few years older. Maybe I should just buy both and just get divorced. Thanks for you feedback Froggy.

Instead of a divorce, buy the wife the 9R and continue looking for the lightning long for yourself. Two bikes are cheaper than one divorce.

That would depend on the length of the ride, and the disposition of the wife.

In any event, the XB9R, while a great little sport bike, seems to me to be the very worst possible choice as a Buell for two up cruising, or even short trips for a man of your height.

In addition, to it's size the additional torque of the XB12 will be noticeable for this application.

Bottom line: Buy the XB9R. It's a classic.

Don't ask the wife to join you on a trip until you can add an XB12XT to the stable.

Buy it. I have one. Not quite as tall as you (6'0") but very comfortable. A buddy of mine is 6'3" and he sat on it and said it was ok, of course he didn't sit on it for an hour.

Thanks for all your feedback guys the wife has had a few beers now and has agreed to let me buy the XB12Ss. It's AU$12000 which is not a bad price in Oz. I'm thinking of selling the '97 M2 to buy the XB9R as well but who knows. I'll keep you all informed and maybe post some pic's
