So i tried a site other than BWB and as it turns out it sucks. there's like 2 members on at a time and they are useless. Long live BWB. |

Somehow I got lucky and this was the first Buell board I tried. I've since LOOKED at others but the posts were so few and far apart! |

The posters seem to have a lot less experience than here or a lot fewer own the shop manual/parts book. |

Not to mention once you get used to Badweb's quirks like the archiving, browsing other forums feels like switching from a Uly to a CBRR1000RRRr. Hell one forum blocked me from viewing threads after I clicked on about 5 of them. It wants me to register to continue viewing. Eff that, I am busy enough trolling here. |

Our Buell forum in Brazil is also on Yahoo! Groups. We have 250 users, 50-100 posts per day and no porn at all! http://br.groups.yahoo.com/group/BuellBR/ |

I forgot to mention also that there are no girls among our 250 users! I wonder why brazilian female riders don't choose Buell's... Maybe we should go for the porn... ;o) Cesar |

Their are a few things I don't like about BWB. It really seems like a first attempt at making a forum. I would like Avatars to be displayed under the persons name so it would be easier to see which people are posting (this might sound dump if your not use to it but it really works). Also a post counter under the persons name would help to see which people are possibly more knowledgeable about Buell and how are the newbies. Just a few thoughts. |

Yup. Badweb is a dinosaur among forums. The only one I've seen that's worse is the Ninja 250R Rider's Club (http://forums.ninja250.org). I believe Blake was looking into switching us over to something more up to date...? ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on June 08, 2009) |

I've noticed on older archives some people have avatars. I've been meaning to ask but haven't...oh look, a bunny. That's ADD for those that don't know. |

Avatars have been disabled. I tried to petition to bring them back, but the majority here didn't want them. Badweb can do many of the things you people want, they just aren't implemented. |

Avatars would be sweet, or at least forum signatures. |

Avatars will most likely never happen again. We had them years ago. Members new and old started using avatars that go against forum policy. So in return Blake and Mods had to go around and delete them. Then they had to answer all the questions why and the arguments that followed. As far as post count?? Look at the members profile by clicking the name. What Badweb is....... is the biggest and best on the web period. More people read it and use then any other forum. It may have its quirks.... so do others. It may be old but it works. |

So what kinda avatars go against policy? I think most people here would just like a pic of their bike. |

NSFW ones. If you want a signature you can make your own, you just have to post it every time, I got tired of doing it after 3 days or about 90 posts. |

Can it be set up that when you submit an avatar it has to be approved before it's displayed? It would be a pain in the arse at first with everybody doing it at once but after a while it wouldn't be that bad. I'll volunteer to approve them. |

speaking as someone relatively inexperienced at maintenance and owning a Buell for about a year, you can tell on Badweb who's full of exhaust fumes and who knows what they are blabbing about quite easily: you read a few. That's a sign of a good site, not avatars. Also, we "respectfully" correct each other so the "informationee" gets what they need to go wrench. Then the jabs start! All in fun and staying clear of being hurtful. Good info, good people! BEST SITE I'VE BEEN ON, HANDS DOWN! (avatars or not). |

The avatars and signatures were a real pain and distracted from content. I am on one of the Porsche board that uses VBulletin board. It's cumbersome and cluttered . . . busy trying to be too much at one time. My bet is that most folks are comfortable with what they are familiar with. I've never had much problem here finding any information I need. |

+1 court i cant stand all the jap bike boards....signatures so long (with pics or ads in them too) that it takes a minute to tell whats a post and whats junk...thats one less minute to spend riding... |

It really seems like a first attempt at making a forum. It is actually. I believe Blake was looking into switching us over to something more up to date...? I do believe we're gonna stick with what works. If it ain't broke... Signatures? You got 'em I do.
But then again...who cares? I think we have less bells and whistles for a good reason. Less show, more go. Keep It Simple Stupid |

>>>I do believe we're gonna stick with what works. If it ain't broke... If it were me and absent a compelling argument I'd change nothing. Badweb is . . . . . well "efficient". Who needs all that "average post per hours on alternating Thursdays" stuff? I want information. Badweb had no clutter. |

I totally agree about the clutter. I have checked other sights and find that when someone uses a signature that is stupid looking or offensive, the meaning of the posts they write have been degraded, regardless of content. Many times so much space is wasted with two paragraphs of clutter, one above and one below, posts of single words or short sentences are nearly lost. KISS+1 |

Idk about you guys, but I think searching on this site isn't great ad really needs to be improved. I love how helpful everyone is and how great the community is, but I do think it needs an update. Vbulletin would be nicer, despite those who say it is fine this way. Just my $0.02 |
