Hey fellas, I am newer Buell owner and as you guys probably already know, the spark plugs are a bitch to get at. The first time I fouled a plug I looked for an hour trying to find a way to get at the plugs and then, with my tail between my legs, brought it to the dealer and had them service it...They were nice about it and did it for free (thank god). The next time it happened I decided I would not leave the garage until I did it myself. I have found that if you remove the airbox cover and the intake scoop (total of 7 bolts) removal and replacement can be done fairly easy with a 5/8 socket, a couple extensions and a swivel. (a few curse words help too).

Veteran Buell owners feel free to add your own input on this subject.

A length of fuel line to help get the rear plug threaded in again. BE CAREFUL to not cross thread the plugs. If they wont turn in by hand stop/back it out/try again. Welcome to Buell wrenching!

Now that you have mastered the black art of spark plug installation, you will understand why many brothers use the longest lasting spark plugs available.

That would be Iridiums.

I use the Denso IXU 24, NGK makes good ones, and I am sure there are others.
