Ok, I got a 2007 XB9R and I just received my Drummer. How much of a pain in the ass is it to remove my stock pipe and throw the Drummer on? Anyone w/ detailed instructions would greatly help. I know KD fAb website offers the removal instructions but not the installation so any help would be nice. |

Andrew, not hard, essentially the reverse of the directions on the Drummer site. Will take 1-2 hours depending on how fast you work and provided you have all the correct tools. What detail are you specifically interested/worried about? |

sketchy - it took me about 3o minutes to take off the stock muffler. you need to take off the chin fairing, the belt cover (only 3 screws with torque heads), loosen and disconnect the 3 muffler straps, and loosen the clamp that connects the muffler to the pipes. i needed to disconnect the rear brake pedal because it was in the way of the 2 rear straps on the muffler. you definitely need an extension to reach the same 2 straps. it might be easier with another set of hands so they can hold the pipe and you can wrench or vice versa. im waiting for my drummer as we speak... |

I am just completely retarded when it comes to disassembling or assembling anything so I just want to make sure my baby is in good hands. |

i have the same bike and it took me about an hour. and i am repair challenged at times. bizkit gave good directions, i however did not have to remove my rear brake pedal. definately need the extension. don't get in a hurry, and you'll be fine. if this is a change from stock it'll take a month to get the sh!t-eatin' grin off your face. it'll rev better too. |

Not sure about the rear brake pedal, for myself I just loosened the rear axle and then removed the belt guide and was able to get it off. Its fairly simple, just take some time which is hard when your rushing to hear it . And be prepared to have a brand new bike! This thing transformed my bike from a fun scoot to a beast. |

You may want to consider re-installing the rear straps with the nuts on the left side, instead of the stock configuration. This will allow for much easy removal and intall in the future. |

you have the 9 so there is no servo in the air box to disconnect? I did it my self and but have the 12. loosened the rear axle and removed the belt tensioner also. didnt remove the break pedal. when you get the stock pipe off, start it once with it open header. god damn!!! i wish i could run it like that all the time. it will be just fine, just don't rev it too high when the muffler is off. |

When putting on a new exhaust is there anything else you have to do to the bike? I just got a 05 XB9R and was thinking about the D&D, anyone have input on D&D? |

TPS reset for sure. Better air filter (K&N). Tuning with ECMSpy if you like. |

I have a D&D and it has most of its power right in the meat of the powerband. Little too loud though. |

This thread is getting off track. No TPS is required when you put a Drummer on. |

living in Cali i had to ship my stock can back to South Carolina. he had to do the work, then ship it back. it was like 5 weeks+ total if i remember correctly. The only thing i did was the exhaust, no high flow Air Cleaner, No Race ECM, just the can. Your bike is ment to be able to self adjust to a change in air fuel mixture. Like if you went to a place with diffrent elevation and it starts running crappy. Maintain a 3000-3500 RPM for 20 minutes or so and it will self adjust(to an extent). Have had the Drummer on the '07 for a year and a half with not one problem... except coming down to hard the first day i got it back and dented the front of it. . |

Ran into this problem last night when putting my muffler back on. When putting the front belt cover back on I would recommend putting in the back bolt first, may be easier to line up with the metal plate behind the belt. I got it in but it wouldn't tighten up, like it wasn't in the hole, but it wouldn't come back out either. VERY frustrating when you are looking forward to taking your bike down the street with your new exhaust on it. I finally messed with it enough and got it to tighten up. If you use tube sockets to go through the holes in the idler then you don't need to take it off. Takes about 40 min to change first time and 20-30 after that if the muffler comes away easily from the headers. Putting it back on you should leave the header clamp loose and tighten the straps right up so that the muffler is all the way home in the headers. You may need to loosen the headers at the ports (lower rear and both front) and give it a bit of a rock to get it into position. After that do the straps up first, headers second and then the header clamp last. |

I'm just waiting for my stock 12r muffler to come in from ebay. Then I have to send it in to Kevin so he can work his magic on it. He just sent me an email roughly a week turnaround, but since I still have my stocker I won't be down any. I don't think I could live with out my bike for too long. |

Core fee from American Sport Bike! No hassling with e-bay, just fork out an extra $250's and then get it back when you send your stocker to Kevin! Thats how I did it, I think it was a little over two weeks turn around time. Have my stocker all boxed up, just waiting for the op to ship it back. |
