I just installed my Helibars last night and ran into a problem. It looks as though my clutch cable is routed wrong. I never noticed this before and have never removed it. So I'm just looking for some input as to where the cable should be in correlation to the wires. Is yours above or below? Thanx for any input on this.

Anybody? Sorry for the bump so soon, I couldn't find any pics of what I needed. The service manual didn't even say. I hope my links are working.

Links work.

Clutch cable routing is on the last three pages of your manual.

Thanx Iamarchangel, but the diagrams in the manual don't show if the cable goes over the wires or under.

My clutch cable goes over the wires. That's the way it came from the factory

Okay i've run into another problem. When I turn my handle bars all of the way to the left my clutch cable pulls on the ignition switch now. It goes all of the way lock to lock, the cable just pulls up against the ignition switch. I do have the cable in correctly.

Has anyone with Helibars run into this? Would a lightning clutch cable fix this? I've been thinking about replacing the cable with the newer better cable anyways. Which cable would you guys put back in?

your problem seems to be your ziptie job, and you have alot of slack with those cables being ziptied....
my bikes doesnt have them zipped way up there, they're just free floating around

Thanx Ochoa0042. I think its a little hard to tell in the pics but the cable is bending the ignition switch in where the cable hits it. The wires are fine with plenty of slack. The two zip ties up high were there before I put the helibars on and were cut off and replaced via their instructions. I'll try and get some better pics.

try these; the first pic is turned left to lock, the second is turned left but not all of the way.

the only thing im worried about is your ignition lock thingy, looks as if the cables are torque-in it, bad mojo....
BUT this issue only occurs when doing a full turn to the left.. and when riding, there is hardly any steering fluctuation.. so my solution is for you to keep at mind when pulling your u-turns

Oh shoot, I just realized that everytime I park and lock my bars, it will be putting pressure on the ignition switch. Darn, I wish that I would have figured this out sooner. I'm an idiot, I just ordered a new Firebolt clutch cable too. lol
