My XB12R came with a black double bubble... I replaced it with the original (also came with the bike) because I really like the look of the original. At any rate, I finally put the bubble back on (at the request of a few local skirts) and noticed a nice little added benefit... At night, I get a LARGE reflection of my tach from about 4K to 7K that's upside down (but not backwards) right near the top of the bubble. In my regular seating position when I'm not sitting up it really stands out just under my field of vision : ). Excellent : ).

I love my double bubble. I had the smoked one at first, but switched out to the clear one. It was a bit dark when tucking in, and looking through the screen, my dark visor combined with the dark screen was a bit much..I like the clear look better.

I can't even see through mine, but my standard riding position lets me see over it anyway.

Have been thinking about the double bubble.
Has anybody installed the tour bubble?
Was worried about how much drag it would cause.
Anybody?

Heads Up display, now that's cool... Just a fyi, zero gravity makes wind screens that are the amber color of the stock 12R screens... I put a ST on mine in the amber and it's just about the same color, couldn't tell any difference...

Fuzz331 - The Zero Gravity Sport/Touring screen is the one used on the HAL's race bikes, so drag wouldn't be too much of an issue for street use I wouldn't think.

thats exactly what I was gonna say matt.

the sport tour wind screen actually cuts down a lil on drag because it takes more of your body out of the equation.

You gotta be fairly low... I'm 5'9" and I put my crack right up next to the rear of the seat and lay my chest on the airbox cover. You should also see the speedo from about 80-130 but it seems a little distorted...

I have the dark smoke double bubble on my XB12R. It's way too dark to see through but I rarely spend any time tucked in that far.

I've got the Zero gravity sport touring on my XB9R and love it. It really cuts down on fatigue for those long rides. Surprised to see the S/T one on Hal's racebike instead of the double bubble. It must pass the air pretty well. I don't notice any additional drag, just that the wind doesn't beat me to death anymore : )

Using Eclipse tankbag & luggage, worked out great on the NE Brag ride.

Where did you get your G-Force? I am thinking of getting one.

Americanrice,
I got it directly from Gustafsson, some where in Florida. Be prepared to drill your own holes with the correct plastic drill bits. http://www.bikescreen.com/search.asp

Are you telling me that there are actually drill bits out there specifically for plastic? Also, I wish that they showed you a picture of the different colors. I wonder how much difference there is between "dark smoke" and "medium smoke"? When I duck behind it I would sure like to be able to see through it.

If you plan on tucking in and actually looking through your screen, I would probably get the light smoke or clear(I never look through mine).

Yes, there are drill bits specially made for plastic to reduce chances of cracking. They run about $8-10 apiece and you will need 2 sizes for the XBR. I was careful, but still managed to put a crack in it on the edge. The faring covered it up though.

My standard position lets me see just above it. It's fairly prominent in my field of vision, but I can see the pavement about 10' or so in front of the bike. I think I'll be getting the orange one at some point.

Do you happen to know what the two sizes are?

I won't be able to tell you what the sizes are until I get home tonight.
