You won't be able to get it remap anyway since it's an 08+. Your ECM should learn by itself that's what everybody is saying about our 08+ bikes.

Pete you can put a muffler on. What you will find is a cable that is attached to your stock muffler. You'll want to tie that up somewhere out of the way. Then you muffler can be installed.

Do your self a favor, after you take off the rear muffler straps, turn them around so the nut is on the kick stand side. That way you don't have to mess with loosening the belt and taking stuff off the next time you need to remove the muffler. I did and now it's real fast to remove....

Ya don't have to loosen the belt anyways. Take off the front pulley cover. And feed a 6 inch extension through the pulley tensioner wheel slots. Some time ya have to move the rear set out of the way by removing the bolts and just moving aside. But no big deal. I just don't like looking at the bolts on the other side.

Pete, I just put a Drummer on my 08 scg. You don't need to get it tuned or anything. It's not to hard to install, and if You have any issues Don't worry Kevin (from Drummer) Is a great guy and will walk you through it. Also why are you buying the pipe frome the dealer? Not trying to get in your bussiness just wondering.

Pete, I went home today to find my lil bro had put his Buell Race pipe on my 08 because he bought a Drummer. I dont have any way of tuning mine either. It made a world of difference and I do have a small amount of deceleration popping. But with out a doubt it rode a whole lot better, like a new bike. Now I will send my stock pipe to Kevin, because the Drummer is amazing.

08 scg how does it sound and run now It sounds great. It's loud, and deep. Go to the web sight and they have a sound clip. Here is his phone and web info

I did a lot of research on the pipes and no one has ever said anything bad about Drummer or special ops. I've dealt with them both and they won't do you wrong. As far as Install it's easy. There is a short cut on the 08s so it's even easier than the instructions on the web page. Anything else I can answer just ask.

I highly recommend the Special Ops pipe.
It's just as easy to put on as it is to take off your old pipe.
Odie is a top notch guy as well.

Oh yeah! Check out the tail gunner pipe. That thing looks sweet! I don't know wich one is better, and both guys are great. I went with the drummer 'cuz it was the one I heard in person and loved the way it sounded and I got a great deal on it. American Sport Bike has an exhaust shoot out with dyno numbers and sound clips that is very informative.

I just installed my special ops pipe after I got home from work tonight, took about 1.5-2 hours, but most of the time was cleaning the bolt threads. All I can say is HOLY SCHNIKIES!!!!! As soon I heard that first THUMP my jaw hit the floor! I just let it idle, it was raining and I keep it clean, but tomorrow it supposed to be clear and 70 here in Atlanta, I'm so happy! After about 2 minutes I turned it off, then heard the neighbor revving the piss out of his car. Hopefully thats not a sign of a douche bag neighbor! Our houses have a pretty decent distance from each other, so I don't think it's going to be a big deal.

For all you that I have heard on here say that the ops pipe isn't much louder than stock, are you deaf?

if you want a cheap way to make it sound more like a harley, just gut the stock pipe yourself. I did it to mine and it took about 3 hours total to gut and then weld it back together and it has a nice rumble now. Not loud enough to piss off the cops, but enough to put a smile on my face

Not hard at all! The only problem was with the rear stand sliding forward on the swing arm from wiggling the exhaust off. Just torque everything correctly, the clamps could break easily.
I couldn't see there being a problem with the police, maybe with neighbors, depending on the time you ride.

Pete,
Welcome to the site, and enjoy your new ride. Oh, most like punctuation around here so we can tell when one thought ended and another began.

2008xb12scg, how are you liking your drummer so far Absolutly love it! Now the XB has even more torque than stock. Power band is nice and smooth to 80, but I haven't had a chance to take it any faster yet.
