Went to Uke's in Kenosha, Wi to pick up a chin fairing bolt(lost while changing the oil). They had a black 1125CR on the floor. The black frame, red caliper and red stripe on the wheels looked good, but that is about it. The new light looks like a B-king to me and the Radiator pods stick so far out that they're almost a reverse wheelie bar for stoppies. I jumped on the bike to get a feel and was surprised at how low the bars are. I thought they would be more like a XB9/12S. You almost lean over as much as the R version. It probably would look better without the R version tail also. To each their own, but it is not for me.
it is not easy on the eyes, i'll give you that. i'd say it's an acquired taste, IMO. for the longest time i thought the XB_R's were fugly, but have grown to accepting the front faring.
give it some time, demo it a couple times, and you will grow to accept and maybe even love the pods.

The XB is the best looking and feeling Buell to me but I have never ridden or even seen in person the CR I only know I do not care for the 1125R it is to much for me I don't need all that bike the XB I can beat the crap out of and it doesn't have to much engine for me its a perfect balance

Cool bikes, I'd LOVE one... But... I do think a lot of folks are going to lay awake and "redraw" the front end in their minds and ponder an S tail swap. Personality is great, but we all like a looker.
Judging by the front I think they must have spent countless hours in the ugly tunnel to arrive at the ugliest front possible without just bolting on a Versys headlamp and bikini. I just think Buell missed it on the styling, when it should have been easy. I'd have to treat one to some cosmetic surgery.

Sticks, I actually they took the easy way with the CR, they only changed the bars and head lights, that's where I got really disappointed. Other thing I didn't like is the riding position, yes I could always get the other handle bars for it, but still I got sore wrist after 5 min on it.
Like others said it's a nice bike but not for me, if I ever feel the need of a similar motor I'll go with the KTM superduke

I believe it's geared for more grunt down low too. Lower, so actually ( higher ) ? Anyway, people will decide with their pocket books. I hope Buell sells tons.

Xbgeorge, I saw the cr at the Harley 105th and also was surprised on how low the handlebars are but Keith said that there is a high rise set of handlebars that bring them up to a more comfortable riding position. I haven't seen those yet but I'm not really interested in getting a new motorcycle, I enjoy my Uly too much!

Bumpus in the boro recently got a black CR in. I love the thing. The pods seem to blend in on the black frame. The sitting position feels almost identical to a firebolt's. I think its a mean looking bike, and if I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

Looking at the pic in cityxslicker's post, I can see a shark. I know one of the metric bikes did it but I can see the open mouth and eyes on the pod, shark fin on the tank and tail on the tail.

I love the piss out of my 03 XB9S, but after spending about 200 miles today on Kevyns CR, I wish I could get one for myself. Not to replace my XB, but to sit beside her!
It is truly such a unique bike. Can't wait to see what above 6K RPM's feels like! Only thing I would do is get the bar risers and all would be golden!
Hope your feeling better Kevyn! Don't worry, she is safe and sound in the garage! As I hope my bike is too!!?!?!?
well, after my demo ride at Ray-Price HD yesterday, i gotta say that it is awesome!!! and a bit too much bike for me... right now. it looked beautiful the whole time i was om it, but everything else was a blurr
the 8% lower gears are phenomenal, but i had a hard time keeping the rpm's aloft. i guess i'm too used to my XB. i never got out of 4th, so the 6 speed tranny sound exhilarating.
i will let it grow on me, and maybe in a year i will think it is gorgeous, break down and buy one
This is what Chadhargis has been waiting for. I sat on one next to the 1125r and the XT at my dealership. I sat up and back on the seat in a Uly like position.....and walla! We have a 146 hp Uly. Change out the bars, tail section, seat, dash/console/headlight assembly.
I don't think a set of hard bags will hurt performance either.
Other thing I didn't like is the riding position, yes I could always get the other handle bars for it, but still I got sore wrist after 5 min on it.
That's you not the bike. you're supposed to support your upper body with your core muscles in your torso and your legs. You should be putting very little pressure on your wrists.
I demo'd one at the Eagle's Canyon Inside Pass event. It's smoother and stronger than the 1125R I rode a few months ago at low rpm. Two 1125R owners at the event with me agreed. It absolutely rips on the track. If you look at the pics on Buell's website, http://www.myinsidepass.com/g/09_23_08_eagles_cany on_tx I'm in the safety yellow Aerostich (looking like the Michelin Man with jaundice) having the time of my life on my XB9S, and their CR and XB12R. After riding the CR, I think it's gorgeous...
