I'm sure this has been asked before, but for all of you guys with the Jardine slip on exhaust, how do you like them? Hows the sound?

Thanks!
Matt

I get a lot of positive comments about the sound . It really pounds the ground. If you like them loud.

i'm still good with mine. most bang for your buck, imo. i've been having some issues withe mapping and holes in the powerband, but it seems i'm the only one.

I like mine too, been on for about a year. I use the quiet module in it, takes the edge off the sound and helps with the decel popping.

I have had to repack mine twice in three years and 20K miles. For some reason my packing blew out within 5k miles. I used Kaowool and it lasted 2 years and 15K miles. Chip I also get a stumble @ 3k RPM to much fuel I guess. But I just had the Techlusion system installed and am planing to play with it. I shouldn't say this but oh well here it goes. The stock pipe sounds like a lawn mower! The RT-1 gets me double takes every where I go! Hindsight I wish I would have bought the Carbon pipe though.

Matt, i have one on mine too, the aluminum version. i like it but i dont have any other experience with XB mufflers to compare it to.
i like the deep drumming growl it has.

i'm gonna e-mail ya. i'll ride the bike down to check out that leather and you can hear it in person.

i like it but i also have holes in the powerband at like 3500 and mapping seems like it could be a weekly deal. i have the titanium slip on good sound and turnes heads.

I love the Jardine I have on my XB9sx, it sounds good and puts out decent power.

I have to say though, that I hated the same exhaust, when I put it on my '08 Uly.
it just amplified the weakness in the fuel mapping issues. the idle was worse, the surging felt worse, and the bike had absolutely NO bottom end. : (
I finally took it off, and went back to the stock pipe. At least until I can resolve the fuel mapping issues...

Love my jardine. For the money you can't beat it. I didn't even try to ride the bike with the stock pipe, the sounds (or lack of) was unacceptable...

The ONLY two people I know with Jardine are using the metal cans - and both were cracking in less than 10K miles.

cracking in less than 10K miles.

Not a problem here and I have beet the heck out of mine driving gravel on roads hitting the crater sized pot holes on my commute to Cleveland. When did they purchase there pipes? I have 20k on mine and no cracks. My 2 cents. If I had more money to spend it would be different though. Best bang for the buck I think.

I won't buy another, ever. I have (had) the Al. version and it lasted about 3,000 miles before there was a bad rattle in the front of the can. All of the rivet holes were twice the size they should be and oval. I was leaking a fair bit of exhaust out the front. That and the fit is horrible, the bracket runs directly in the path of the oil lines and the elbow dind't line up without bending. I repaired it with hi-temp RTV and oversized rivets. After some phone calls they told me it was because I waited too long to re-pack (3000 miles, come on). So, disgusted with that, I wrote them a professional, polite letter outlining everything from fit to quality and suggested they send me a Ti sleeve to replace the Al piece. They agreed to that and that's where we left it. So far the Ti has been OK for ~4000mi. Sound is good (loud) but sounds too much like a Harley (crack instead of thump) when you really get on it.

My advice; spend the money on a good pipe (drummer, Buell...)

Chris

Triple, get the quiet module for it, takes the edge off the sound.

Put one on my Uly about 2k miles ago. I also put in a race ECM and drilled my airbox. I had to play with the mapping to get rid of the flat spots but after that it's been worry free. The sound is awesome but loud. The "butt plug" silencer was a little too quiet and restrictive so I made few of my own with various size openings.
