The 2009 SS has the same suspension and rake angle as the TT. It does keep the same travel and height as the earlier models.

I guess it was not my imagination.

For some reason it's the bike I reached for.
It Always seemed to handle a little better than the 2006 SS.

I had to make a choice
I decided to keep the TT.

How does it keep the same travel if it's using the TT equipment?

i just asked a similar question in the "TT shock length" thread.....

how does the XT have more ground clearance than the TT, but less travel? (sorry for the hijack)

Well for the forks , the fork springs might be shorter.

**** I should say Stiffer. I had a VTX that I added stiffer springs which were actually shorter , but it raised the fork tubes one inch. I am sure there is various ways to adjust the height.

The rake is the same as the TT

I've forgotten most of what I once knew but.. If I remember correctly, the TT has all the travel of the standard Uly in one direction but not the other.
Just don't ask me if it's upwards or downwards because I don't remember.

The other direction is shorter.

The XT I believe moves the same in both directions so it may have more ground clearance (This I do not know for sure either as I havn't measured either) but the actual travel is less because the TT moves more in that one specific direction that I can't remember I think it's up but don't quote me.

According to the Buell site, fork angle and rake are the same as the 2007/2008 XB12STT.

So..
It is safe to say it is an STT minus number plates and Uly beak sporting passenger pegs and an Ss seat.

This was probably a good move by Buell.

I would always choose the TT over the Ss because of the suspension and slightly more aggressive fork angle and rake.
Then I would have to spend God knows what to convert it into what Buell is now offering as standard.

It doesn't.

the '08 SS had a suspension travel of 120mm in the front and 126mm in the back. The '09 SS setup carries 143mm on the front and back. (same as the STT)
I think it will be a step forward in giving the majority what they want. The aggressive 'Super Moto' (inspired) design was hard for several to stomach. (But I was instantly drawn to the number plates and high fender.)

I am pissed that back it '07 I couldn't get my STT in Hero Blue! The price of the rims is going to kill me.

The TT just feels more nimble, easier to turn in, VS the SS. I think they did a good move with the SS.

I'm in no way knocking the Ss/TT, (it was on my next to buy list until the XT came out) but I think renaming the TT to an Ss, was the quickest/easiest way for Buell to get around/away from their (HD?) initial marketing blunder-you only get once chance at a first impression.

Sell your stock rims, esp if they're black.
