Went to the HD/Buell dealer today (Kegels in Rockford, IL) and happened to see a XB9SX sitting in the showroom. I threw a leg over it and man, it felt awesome! The layout of all of the controls is perfect! The riding position is spot on as well. I'm strongly considering going back next weekend and buying it!

You can sit on bikes without asking? Wow. If anyone does that at the local HD/Buell dealer they'd get shot.

I've never sat on a City X. Looks comfy.

Matt, from what I have heard Kegels is one of the best Buell shops in the Illinois area. Anyone here have an opinion on them? I was planning a run up there sometime this summer - I live in Aurora.

Zylstras in St.Charles has signs all over the floor that say "please sit on our bikes". all the bikes accept the 'custom choppers'.

it is helpful that there is someone around... three years ago a customer sat on a bike and dragged foot off the non kickstand side of the bike, bike came with them, toppled, and they fell into another bike, knocking it over, luckily there were only two bikes in the domino affect. The kicker is when they tried to sue for injuries, we did have a sticker that said ask for assistance. They did get a Duh award. And a special spot on our security cam review.

Key is, if you dont know what you are doing... best practice is to ask ; ) . More than happy to have you sit on em, and hell if you have your endorsement (and the weather cooperates) DEMO! Sitting on the bike will tell you volumes more than any brochure or website stat sheet. Try em on for size!

+1 for the City-X, I know I love mine.

I couldn't immagine buying a bike that I haven't ridden, let alone sat on. That's crazy.

I always sit on them too. Never been told not to either. Of course I'm not jumping on and stuff, done with ease and respect I guess.

I'm wanting to buy from Kegels since my brother bought his bike (07 Sportster Custom) from them. He was very very pleased with his buying experience.

I must be insane then, I bought both my Buells without any ride. Hell I bought my Lightning without even seeing it till after I bought it!

I bought my bike with only hearing it run for 2 seconds. My wife heard it run longer than me before I gave him the check. Didn't regret a second of it.

We don't mind folks sitting - properly and carefully. It's when they smear hot dog fingerprints all over, trying to see if blue feels any different than red, that we get a little tweaked. Women with lots of rings on make my teeth start to chatter I get so nervous...

The CityX is the most fun machine I have ever piloted (I review vehicles for living, I drive a lot of machines). I think you should buy it - and be prepped for a shit eating grin every time you hop aboard.

Kegels is definitely the best dealer in Illinois we've been in. The most Buells in stock and the only one to stock any Buell clothing. Last time we were there (on the way to Homecoming) they even had 3 very nice used tubers for sale.
