How old is the bike? Check battery connections, chaffed wire, etc. Anything that could cause a ground out.

Any "1/2" or "Micro" ISO-footprint automotive-style relay will work.

Check the contacts in the starter button housing on the right handlebar. I've had to clean 2 of them with a pocketknife. The contacts will look good, just scrape them anyways.

My ignition relay went out Memorial Day. It's the same relay that HD uses for the 2000 and up Softtails etc. It's like $7 at the HD dealer. Just take the relay w/ you. They will look at you like you are from outer space wanting a part for your Buell. Right after you surprise them by working on your own bike.

When my relay went bad, my head light would come on, but the fuel pump wouldn't run to pressurize the system.
