Hmmm, might work pretty good. Has anyone looked at the conversion? It would take care of the headlight problem, and add the "comfort zone". And, the Heated Grip upgrade almost fits in behind the fairing. Hmmm...... |

The front fairing and dash cluster will bolt right up to the frame boss on the XBR... BUT: You'll have to get custom with wiring and mounting the gauges, etc. I'm planning something similar, but it's on the back burner for a while. |

I looked into this as well and I'm seriously considering doing it. I think that I would modify the fairing support so that I could use my instrument cluster. The whole front end minus the instrument panel is under $900. |

Then, clip on adapters for the pods, instead of the scoops.... |

I'll be able to tell you real soon as I have the fairing and windscreen on order, now. I believe the way to do it is to use the firebolt fairing mount and modify it accordingly. I am putting on my race bike so lights will not be an issue. Fairing - $132.00 Windshield - 62.35 The headlights are $130.00 each. |

Ralph is correct. Buell ran it with a R fairing stay for a while. Don't ask how I know. Ralph, you stole my idea for the race bike! Actually, I have it on good authority that a certain person that purchased a 1125R that is going right to race form is in the process of getting a fiberglass mold so he can make his own. I plan on purchasing one from him. |

Rocketsprink, That's great to hear! I hope they will make blanks for the headlights?? The OEM piece is SO inexpensive and being made of the same material as the other pieces, it's more forgiving incase of a spill. Keep me in mind if the headlight blanks become available, |

Let me know what you have to do to the Firebolt fairing bracket to make the 1125 fairing work. If it is easier to do it that way I'll go that route. Plus it will save me a few $$$$ if I don't have to buy the 1125 fairing bracket. |

Damnut I've got some test fit pics in the XB/1125 fairing thread. This is very preliminary fitting but it could be tight if you're fitting 1125 headlights with the XB fairing mount. At a glance it looks like the fuse box may have to move a little to the right but like I said it looks doable! |

I think that could make it look very XBRR-ish. |

I like that, Barker. Can you put it on a rear tire stand and get a straight on shot of the front & rear? |

I'm wondering why Buell couldn't have thought of that. I think it looks great! |

I truly believe that is how the 1125 should roll off the factory floor. I would sell my 12R in a heartbeat if they came out looking like that in '09. |

Can you put it on a rear tire stand and get a straight on shot of the front & rear? I got about a dozen pics of this bike E-mailed to me from a Bueller from Frankfurt, Germany. These are the closest to fulfilling your requests.

Those are great, thanks. Guess it's time to call my insurance agent to get a quote for a 1125R. |

The bike's begging for a full fairing and belly pan. I kinda like the German's effort; as a early effort. With some refinement, it could easily be a beautiful bike. |

I don't understand why Buell didn't design it like that in the first place. All they needed to do was build a fairing that incorporated the radiators up top and a cowling that covered the front of the muffler down low and the bike would look great. |

Well, here's what I think. Probably wrong, but maybe they didn't want it to look like every other repli-racer bike on the planet. Which the full fairing makes it look. IMO anyway. Personally, I like it in both forms.

that looks awesome! The one thing that I do not like about the 1125R is the front fairing looks like an after thought of some sort, too bulky. the Firebolt front looks awesome! I want one!!!!! |

I'm interested to see this conversion done -- sounds interesting. Personally, I'm sticking with my 12R -- anyways I would go smaller before bigger, since I am a 5'6"ish. I do wish they would make either of the R types in a Scg format...that would interesting... Damnit, now I want to see a 1125 with a full Scg tail/shock conversion. Anyone good with photoshop? Good luck on the fitting! PS: you know...the new 1125 instrument cluster is nice looking -- wouldn't mind that on my 12R. Double-damnit, another thing to add to my winter to-do list! Will the 1125 fairing mount bolt up to a XB frame? |
