I'm waiting till I win the custom Pirelli 1125R, eh wishful thinking.

actually if I had to only buy one I'd keep my XB12Ss. But I wouldn't mind having an 1125R to tear it up on the track.

But look at it this way, what else would you be doing with your money if you are not going to buy one? If you can't think of a better reason than having one hell of a motorcycle, then go for it.

Well, what kinda help do you want? To be talked into it or out of it.

If you go by my example, you'll be talked into it. I still got my 96 S1, I'm keeping my 03 XB9R and my 1125R should be here any day now. I'm keeping them all. I think it is called polybuellamy.

If you are on the fence, let me tell you this:
If you testride an 1125R, you'll be hooked!

Hey Cringblast - I hate to tell you but there's NO HELP available.

Start clearing space in the garage or carport.

Here's another thing, fold the mirrors back and the 1125R will fit through a standard front door! Park it in the living room - just let the motor cool down or it'll smell a bit.

Follow my lead, race your old XB and buy an 1125 for the street!!

Well that's not really true, I have two XB12R's now and I'm patiently waiting for the 1125 to arrive as I'm trading in the street model but I'll still get to play with an XB on the weekends!!

The question is not whether you should or shouldn't get an 1125R.
The question is how soon can you get one : )

If I had the means, I would get an 1125R and keep it stock. Then I would go all out and mod the 12R into an insane beast : D

Never buy a first year run. Never. Wait a year and see what happens with recalls and problems.

+1 what Chinashop said.

Also, have you researched insurance costs yet? My Ss costs enough as it is! I can't imagine how expensive the 1125R would be added in!

+1 on Midknyte
I also have a first year S1. (There were problems with it)

Regarding the first year production of the 1125R:
It is the most comprehensively tested motorcycle prior to production - ever.

Most likely if you have to ask this question, you should wait a year until you can add one to your stable comfortably. Besides, by then the aftermarket arena will be bursting at it's seams!

There one real big difference with this first model.
It isn't simply the first of a new model. It's the first of a new era. It's history in the making and an instant classic: )

1. Never pass on an opportunity to add to the stable.

2. Never take my advice about motorcycles and money.

Just sayin,,,,,

WOW!! 180' from me, the XB will stay on the street and the 1125R will hunt Ducks and Gixxers on the track.

I say this because you must know the truth, the XB is a STREET motorcycle. While the 1125 will justify Buell on the track. : ): ): ): )

And, Cringblast, come on man the monthly payment will be about the same as extended cable TV with internet. Just buy the damn thing so we can ride. : ): ): )

Cutter
Pick up a used XB9. Put together a 113" XL motor using after market cases 3.5" stroke the 120" cylinders, HSR48, S&S heads and valve train. Add a little compression, shake it up with a six speed and go hunting for some 1125R. Just something I have been wanting to try. Just remember 3/4 of the world is covered in water no need to add more.

Don't do what Badkarma suggests! You will be ten thousand in the hole with unreliable engine mods, bad driveability, and nowhere to sell the mutant thing. I know, I ruined a perfectly good XB that way.

Now I will have my stock XB Firebolt and Ulysses for quick commutes, long distance rides with fuel economy, and an 1125 for when I want to play on the street or on track days. I've talked with a couple of the guys who race tested the 1125's and they said all they do is put gas in the things and ride them at race speeds for hour after hour, nothing like what they go through with modified XB's that they race.

Of course, this is assuming my wife will let me keep all three; she doesn't know yet that that is the plan. But I will get an 1125 even if I have to let go of one of the XB's. BUt I want them all!

I say dress the XB up like the 1125R, recoat the frames and everything, get black plastics, the radiator pods can be made into hard case saddle bags and voila. a super cool custom XB.

Well I went and checked out the 1125R AGAIN.
Left before I signed any thing.
You would not believe the conversation I had with the dude that came over to ask about the my XB, he worked at the Suzuki dealership next door. UNREAL. Any way just wanted to throw the new pic at ya.

Be warned. You are walking a fine line by checking it out "again".

Do NOT ride the bike unless you are prepared to sign for one.

It's that good.

Go for it! I'm with Imonabuss though regarding engine modifications.Buell has a well sorted out engine and does not respond reliably to increasing power.Although i've been told otherwise,my firsthand experience showed me unreliability.Always a weak link to chase.

I've more than one Buell, you should too.An 1125r would look GREAT next to an XB12r.

Now go sign the paperwork before you find a reason not to and go cold feet.
