I see how you guys are, a little challenge and you gang up on the challenger.

No, when you find the cat that keeps crapping in your sandbox, you kick it in the ass until it stops doing it.

We are a very supportive and forgiving bunch, but we don't take kindly to people who act like you have. This board isn't like most of the rest you have probably been part of. We have a much lower proportion of 16-18 year old squids. The average age here is a little older.

Thus far you have demonstrated no desire to be a constructive member here long term. We get several flash in the pan folks like you a year. Most end the way you seem to be going, voluntary or involuntary banishment. A few come to realize that their behavior isn't acceptable and conform to the norms of BW. Since you didn't bother to accurately complete your profile, we have to assume your intention is to ride this thing until you get banned.

We love a good fight. Thus far you haven't even made it to the ring. You are simply standing on the ramp covered in $hit thrown from the crowd.

I never called any one of you a name.
Like some of you called me names already.
I can't believe you guys won't accept
a mileage challenge ! Or any challenge for
that matter.

Double standards abound here.
If they kick me out then they kick me out,
but it will prove one thing that they don't value challenges.
If Buell fans can't accept a challenge ONLINE then what does that say about real world street challenges? When that Gixxer
1000 or probably a 750 rips you off, and leaves you in the proverbial dust.
Do you know what bike won at Mid-Ohio
formula extreme last year?
...a frickin R-6. A 600 ! 600 CC's ....
a 36.6 CI . That's embarrassing.

That is what you should be concerned about.
Buells are not respected in the real world
for the most part, as underpowered slow bikes.

I've wrapped my bike in teflon tape and now it slips through the air faster than any Hayabusa or ZX-14! Thanks for the tip, I'm heading off to racer road to embarrass some more squids now!

The name I am referring to is the name of this thread. The way I take it is, by naming this thread "FACIST BADWATERBIKES" you are calling all of us on this forum fascist's.

Maybe I am at times a little thin skinned but, in my book that is name-calling and it is derogatory.

Face it, like me and other members of this forum, we are guests in this house. If the owners of this forum do not like the way we are acting then we can be asked to shape up or, we will be asked to leave. No threat here, just reality. You may not like it but, this is a fact of cyber life.

1. I do agree with Southsidebuellone when it comes to teflon tape.

2. I do agree with everyone else in regards to Southsidebuellone's behavior.

"Buells are not respected in the real world"

I ride in the real world, daily, and I've never had anyone come up to me and disrespected one of my Buells. That only happens in print and online -- accountability is everything. Blowhard rag writers and Internet wannabe bad-asses seem to have the market cornered.

YMMV,

Holy Mother of God.

Southside must break out the lotion every time he opens a roll of teflon tape. I've never seen anyone so hung up on... on... IT'S FREAKIN' TAPE! Here it is, threads later, DAYS later, and you still can't let that go! I'm LMFAO over here! And because that chaps your ass so bad, you have to resort to the "Buells suck against IL4s" crap that has not one thing to do with ANYTHING else being discussed.

Truly amazing.

And sad.

And damn funny.

I hear they wrap their privates in teflon over at Sacborg. You'll be right at home over there.

I suspect it does happen, but probably more on account of the rider than the bike. I read someone here got spit on by a RUB of all things (I suspect it was an embellishment).

No one has ever said a discouraging or mean word to me about my Buell in the 7 years I've been riding it. Not sportbike riders, not Harley riders... no one.

Except my mom, that is, but that's her job.

Southside,
there have been several mileage threads on the site here. There are several tube frame Buells with well over 100,000 miles on them, and likewise there are several XB frame Buells that have to be getting real close to rolling over the digital odometer into the 100k range.

But total miles don't equate to functional expertise. I'm one of those people who don't really bother to keep track of how many miles I've ridden/rode motorcycles. That I ride means more to me than how far I've gone.

If you want to start a thread then start one, but if you want valid replies then start the thread off in a valid manner. I have no idea what significance your 12x,xxx mileage represents, no more than my 50,000+ miles of whiteline lane splitting miles on a Honda CM450E in southern California with over 80,000 miles total on the bike when I gave it away to a relative. My two Buells, '95 S2 and '00 M2, each have a bit less than 30,000 miles on their clocks (all mine on the M2, two-thirds mine on the S2), and the '91 FLT I recently picked up is closing in on an indicated 70,000 miles on the odometer (got no idea if that's the second time around or not, but less than a thousand of them are mine so far). Other bikes I've had I've lost track of. Back in the 1970's I had a 1942 FL Knucklehead that didn't have a speedo or odometer, but I figure I probably put 50,000-150,000 miles on it, rode it year-round in Washington, snow and all, only stopped when the roads were iced over, not bragging, just talking, not looking for points, just telling how it was and what it is, no ego, no chest thumping, no pissing in anyone's Cheerios, it is what it is and nothing more.

There's an old saying at some establishments: Leave your colors and your attitude at the curb. Pretty good advice. YMMV.

Swordsman,
I think you'll find more ball sack shaving than teflon tape wrapping. I don't remember my membership number "over there", but it's way below 50 or something. Don't matter really, a nice neighborhood if you watch where you step, atmosphere varies at times, sometimes not work-safe but usually is, more like a bar than a pub but I suspect most of them would feel at home and be welcomed in most places in real life. I think during on Homecoming I had about a dozen or more of them stuffed into a van I had for transport from the airport to Kenosha to retrieve their shipped bikes, the van might have been "slightly" over loaded with bodies and gear but I managed to keep it mostly on the road for the trip down the freeway. Good times those were, as good times still happen these days. Life's too short for dog-doo flinging wars over the cyber-fence, but there's people on all sides who are available for a little flinging in a cyber-friendly sort of way. I do recall the time and reasons for the diversion/division, but that's history and today we have available two good places to visit each with their own blends of personalities. Some fit in, some don't, no matter where they go. That's life, and so it goes.

I've lost track of what I was typing about, so I'll just ramble away for a bit.

Mike,
Heh, yeah, personally I've spent very little time at Sacborg. The few threads I've read HAVE been very derogatory, but I guess that's because I usually end up "over there" from a link posted "over here", so I've been seeing the best of the best, so to speak. I was really just pokin' a little fun at them. I'm sure they've got some great members (a few have been posting on the Quick Board recently since their site got hacked).

But I AM wholeheartedly encouraging Southside to go darken their doorstep with his Teflon tape cult and his generally trollish behavior.

Who said long term mileage tests mean nothing? Companies test products long-term to measure durability and reliability and to apply learned knowledge to future product development along with getting data to work on solutions to support current ownership needs of their customer base.

Taking a bike to 100,000 miles is just miles if you do it just to ride it. If it is to track and record/document how the product works then the goal is to collect data, not just to ride it. When bikes come in for warranty work the bike info along with the mileage of the bike gets recorded and processed into some big mysterious database so that if the need arises the people who need to work on a solution have something to measure against.

How far an individual has accumulated in motorcycle miles in their lifetime does not necessarily equate to some specific proficiency chart/graph. Three people can be cyclists, and each of them could have 100,000 bicycle miles total in their experiences, yet one of them might be a Cat-1 racer, one might be a long distance Randonneur, and the third might be crashing on a weekly basis just riding to and from work trying to keep from getting run over by car and truck drivers. Each of them will have different experiences, but the racer might not fare too well on a tour if he's a sprinter in specialty, and the tourer might not even finish a Cat-5 race if he can't corner fast in a criterium, and the commuter might simply be riding out of need as opposed to choice and might be barely proficient and competant enough to keep his tires inflated to a suitable pressure let alone be able to perform simple repairs as he might simply head down to the local thrift shop or garage sale and buy a new to him bike for $10 everytime his current ride breaks down enough to make it not ridable.

I have no idea what you're looking for, and I probably didn't answer you to any level of satisfaction, but that's okay as my fingers got a little exercise.
