Car wash soap and a wash mitt. Comes off mine easily.

Hated cleaning them, and I got tired of the color. No they're black. I did wash them with a mitt and soap when they were still amber.

I don't have amber wheels but this might work for you.
I assume your trying to get the dust around the rotor. I use a thin, micro fiber cloth (the yellow ones from Costco) and soapy water. Pull the edge of the cloth tight and with a lot of soapy water, work the cloth back and forth on the wheel where the disk attaches. I've got bright orange wheels and they show every spec of break dust. After cleaning and drying, I use Plexus on the wheels to bring out the shine. I hear Lemon Pledge works very well too, But I've never tried it. Good Luck.

To keep the dust from coming back as fast, use Pledge.

It sounds crazy, but it works. (at least it does for my wheels.)

Had mine powdercoated and the guy who did the coating and polishing recommended it.

Hey Evil,
Did you have the entire wheel powder coated or did you leave the outer lip unpainted. I'm not sure how I want to do mine

I clean my wheels, ( and everything else), with Plexus.

It cleans dust and grease off the wheels quickly, and leaves a protective gloss coat that makes them easier to clean the next time.

I had the wheels powdercoated by Grandstand Designs.
They put a clear coat over the polished edges.

Not quite a shiny as uncoated, but much, much easier to maintain as they do not corrode.

I got mine done just like the Gentleman, there. Centers coated black, outer lips polished to a mirror shine.

Love it.

Thanks, your wheels look great, I think I'm leaning that way when it comes time to paint mine. Sounds like a good winter project.

Don't wash them. I haven't washed my bike in two years. Seriously. That's why i painted it flat black.

Once the wheels get powdercoated black, nothing will ever get washed again.

Car wash soap, water, mitt, and cotton swabs for the tight spots.

Pledge huh? I may try that.

The 'bolt rear looks sweet on that bike! Much more practical as well I bet... no rocks on your seat after a ride and no stripe up your back every time you hit a puddle...

Plus one on the Pledge.

Be careful not to get the pledge on the tires. Any dirt that gets on them will stick like crazy. Maybe that is because I live a mile down a dirt road.

Sure is tough keeping an all black bike clean in the country!!!

OK boys here is the skinny on how to get the brake dust off the wheels and it works like magic plus it is cheap...get a bottle of Greased Lightning at Walmart...this stuff just melts that gold stuff off immediately..no acid...spray on and watch it disolve...hot soapy water would not touch that stuff on my wheels..quite amazing.

DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT GET GREASE LIGHTNING ON THE GRAFFITE FRAME OR SWING ARM ON THE 12'S

I made that mistake to try to was the bike. i didint wash it off fast enough and it left marks every where i hit. even the aluninum engine mount and rocker boxes are stained. that shit is a grear degreaser and stainer. use with extream caution. I now use simple green. its biodegradable and doesnt harm paint. but removes grease with wonders

S100 Wheel cleaner every two weeks seems to do the trick for me. No fuss, no muss...

Sure do miss the satin black wheels on my old Cyclone, though...
