Buell is coming out with new models???

Oooohhh, you mean how are they going to redress an XB for '08!

LOL! Just kidding! Though the 2008 models won't interest me whatever they are... I'm up to my eyeballs in my '06 Ss right now.

Translated from Spanish...

21/06/2007.
Anticipation: Buell-Rotax
Buell prepares a model of street based on XB RR

Buell XB RR, the last model of the Buell mark destined to a use in circuit, will have its commercial version. The new Buell will be animated by bicylindrical a Rotax motor and, although still its exact appearance is not known, we we advanced to you how it will be with this fotomontaje.

A few months ago, the test equipment of Motociclismo was invited to prove in circuit one of the 150 units of Buell XB RR, the last accomplishment of Buell destined to the world of the circuits. Then, now we advanced to you that the American mark thinks to send to a version of street of this moto of competition and that their intentions go outposts much more of which you can suppose. In fact, at the end of August and in the mythical layout of Dry Lagoon, Buell has predicted to make the presentation of a new product. We bet that he will be the one of this Buell XB RR of street.

We do not know its commercial denomination, but we know that he will mount bicylindrical a Rotax motor in V, possibly of 1,000 cc, cooled by water and fed by electronic injection, very similar, to which mounts Aprilia RSV 1000 R, with that, without a doubt some, will compete in the market of the sport motos.

Obvious, we still do not have official images of, call it, at the moment, Buell-Rotax, but knowing the last designs Buell and the map courses by which the industry of the sport motorcycle moves, we have ventured ourselves to make a fotomontaje, builds of our habitual collaborator J.M Guerin. Of him or you have seen other anticipations in motociclismo.es like Honda CB 1000 F Hornet or the Ducati Monster.

As you can see in the image, the new Buell will have the classic structure of the accomplishments of the house, that is to say, very short and rigid chassis and perimetral front disc, in its case with clamps of 8 pistons.

Inverted bracket Öhlins and cantilever shock absorber are our bets for the scheme of suspensions. Also, we understand that the secondary transmission will have to be by chain, like XB RR, instead of the typical dentated strap of Buell.

And, of course, its design, spectacular. Let us hope that in August we pruned contarte more things. Until then you will have conformarte with our fotomontaje.

I love the look of that bike but you can keep the Rotax. Well, you all can have the Rotax in the interim but I want Buell to field their own motor eventually. BTW, notice the Yamaha style exhaust?

Another question - are HD dealers going to service Rotax motors?

But that's not a red bike...? Sorry to see the belt drive go, but that'll make the "chain gang" happy. I'd rather see a 1200cc water-cooled, DOHC V-Twin ready for World Superbike than 1000cc. Less than a month to wait!

That photo is good... at being lame... Buell and Rotax? No way. Where does the radiator go? How does the front wheel travel up and down without smacking the front engine cylinder? Remember the article in Fuell... "PoweRRing the future"? The whole article is great, and the last paragraph pretty much sums it up. : )

Winter Fuell... first one out with the new format.

Last paragraph - "What are the limits of air-cooled, V-twin power for the street? Nobody knows. But it’s an iron-clad guarantee that the amazing team of engineers Erik has put together at Buell will never stop learning from experience – and never stop improving on the foundational principles that make Buell motorcycles so special."

Buell + Rotax Engine = big, big win and finally a Buell that will be the best sport bike in the world and certainly will sell alot more than 6,000 bikes in the USA.

If the 1200cc Rotax is going to be in the 2008 Buell we all had better get used to the possiblity that it is an all new world standard for motorcycle sport bikes

Plus.......there is much to admire about Eric Buell, his design skills, mechanical capabilities, determination and his company and their accomplishments so far that will brought to an all new level with the 1200cc Rotax engine

Ocourse we will all be waiting for the comparison tests to make any judgements....butttttttt in the end..... this is Eric Buells long awaited first real bite at this apple after all these years with the 1200cc Rotax engine and instead of being stuck with a 1930s motor design like all prior years....somehow I reallllly cant see him coming to the table with a bike that will not do the job
