BBB is worthless

Check the State Consumer Affairs agency where you live.

All the BBB does is call them to ask if they know they have a complaint against them and if they're not a BBB member, they hit them up to join.

The AZ attorney general's office for consumer affairs is:
http://www.azag.gov/consumer/

You can call them and get their advice or a link to the proper forms - or just use their address and send them the papers if you get stiffed again.

I'd think that FIRST, Send the dealer a REGISTERED letter, giving them a reasonable time to contact you with arrangements to make it right but if it doesn't happen, let them know you're contacting the Attorney General's have your letter already written, including receipts, estimates, etc - and then if you DO mail it to your attorney general, make SURE you cc the dealer

Sounds piss poor - but I'd still give him one chance to make it right but I'd be ready to go the next step.

Get your documentation together.

From their website:

quote:

If you believe you have been the victim of consumer fraud, you should first contact the company in writing and specifically request the relief that you feel is appropriate. You may also file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office.

Uhhh, that's fraud.

It's a great deal different than incompetence or neglect.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know the primary and tps were not touched?

As far as the TPS, a friend bought the software to do the reset, we tried it on my bike and I went from having a cool little bike that vibrated some at idle to a wheelie monster that barely shook at idle. And the fan preety much stopped running around town. ( always thought that fan was a slut, anyhow..)
That was at 2500 miles.
Fast forward to 5K miles, now its time to do the primary... the thing was as tight as a gitar string! NO WAY did they 'adjust' the primary, those things get LOOSER not tighter with mileage!
I always had a little trouble finding neutral, now none at all and it shifts slicker than...
I called the GM at the dealer and am still waiting for the call back... not going to wait too long.
If I pay for service and the 'good' dealer in town does not do what I PAID for, why would I support this ?
BMC needs to come down hard on this shit.
I don't want this to sound like a threat but...
I won't buy a Buell again if this does not get settled the way it should.
I love the bike.
Buell CS rocks.
But, combine this with the way I was treated by the sales 'staff', the bullshit that passed for 'setup' upon delivery ( paid for that, too) and you get an ironclad guarantee I will NEVER be back.
And I'll inform everyone who shows intrest in the bike.
I WILL NOT TOLERATE BEING RIPPED OFF.
Never have, never will.
Apologies for the rant, but that is how I feel.

I felt the same way after paying for the first service. Never again.
These bikes are so easy to work on with the service manual.

I have done all my own service except the first tps reset and also was not real happy with the results, so I purchased the software and books and do my own work now. I can't see really ever needing the dealer except to by parts.

The thing that pisses me off even more is the questions I have about the safety of my bike. What ELSE didn't they do? Don't steering head bearings and 'critical fasteners' get checked?

I was wondering about the "Critical Fasteners" myself. What are they?

BBB is worthless

You can say that again! They're as useless as it gets. Call them and report a problem and they'll say "oh we'll give them a call" and it ends there.

By the way, Thanks for taking notice, Court.
I heard from the GM this morning. He listened to what I had to say and when I said I want a refund, he agreed.
Suprise!
All he want in exchange is an email detailing what happened so he can show his boss.
10 days for the check, he said.
Not as bad as I thought.
Hope he's telling the truth.

10 days for the check...

Sounds like another scam. It sucks so bad when you spend money at a company and then they don't stand good and treat you like a dumb loser.

Mesa,
Did the service ever actually get done by you or someone else? Hopefully, you will get this resolved with a minimum of hassle.

07xb12scg,
My experience has been that I only get treated like a "dumb loser" when I act like one.

YMMV

Hey, 10 days for the check is not a bad thing. Perhaps it will allow for some cooling off.

The GM wants to make it right for you. Perhaps the shop will get a wake-up call to not move the Buells out of the way to make room for the more profitable hogs.

Good luck. I think it will end up positive.

Heard from the GM again today, he wanted to know who did the service. I did it with help from a friend who has done the adjustment several times before. He has the service manual so we weren't guessing what to do. The instructions were very good.
The GM did repeat that there would be no prob with a refund, he just wanted to have some more detail.
I sincerly hope he is not jerking me around.

Still not sure how you know the service wasn't performed on your bike that you paid for.

I would say next time you get ready to take a bike in for service and wonder if they work on it. Put a little finger nail polish on the bolts and base to see if they break the bolts off and do the work like you paid them for....
