I just signed up for the Buell sponsored VIR track day in Sept. Is anyone else from the Chester County PA going? I'm debating riding down the day before the event. That being said, a lot of what I've read recommends trailering your bike to and from the event. Bike prep and fatigue were sited as the rationale. Has anyone done one of these, and what are your thoughts on the subject? I may be interested in renting or sharing a trailer with someone. I have and SUV to pull it, or I would be happy to share expenses. Any advice would be appreciated. |

Leon @ PTT and the staff are great. You should have a good time. I would never ride to a track day. You will want to fall over dead afterwards from pure exhaustion. |

Riding to a track day presents several problems. 1. As Chariles mentioned, if you do it right, you will be too tired to drive home. 2.If you wad it, you got to get it home. Problem if you left your trailer 500 miles away. 3.You got to prep the bike. Not a big problem in the beginners classes, but you can't ride it on the road afterward. 4.You want to bring a lot of stuff: tools, spare brake and shift levers, stands, chairs, maybe water, fuel, air tank, leathers, etc. etc. |

I kind of figured that the trailer made sense... Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced trailer or a good rental option? The U-Haul trailers look like they could work, but would not be ideal. I suspect the buying one will be a better option, as it looks like track days become and addiction. Keep the help coming! |

You are a lucky SOB. I never got to ride VIR when I lived back east. It is supposed to be a stellar track with amenities to match. ENJOY! Oh yeah: Gentleman_jon is right. In addtion to tools, fuel, air, and leathers, you will also want shade and food and water. This is my track day list: Helmet Leathers Back protector Gloves X 2 Boots Socks Ear plugs Hat Tool Box Tape Air Tank Air Gauge Service manual Milk Crate EZ up Lift and wood blocks Zip Ties Towels Wipes Safety Wire Tires Cooler Lunch Snacks Water Red Bull or Coffee Ice Gas |

Thanks for the list. We're getting ready to trailor our bikes to Miller Motorpark in Utah this weekend for 2 days on the track. It was recommended to us NOT to ride the bikes out there due to how tired we're going to be after being on the track. Can't wait!!! |
