Makes Shoei and other name brand helmets look like junk. Can't wait till they release it.

The GP guys wear what their sponsors provides them. If scorpion paid Rossi enough I bet he'd change his helmet. Scorpion makes fine helmets, go out and read some of the reviews.

Dang...that helmet has a BUNCH of nice features. I like the "pump" idea.

Could be interesting. I try to ascribe to the simpler is better approach. I don't think this helmet falls into this category.

The reviews I have read complain about the noise created by the venting systems of Scorpion helmets.

I wear ear plugs, but the most noticeable noises are always wind noises.

These are on my list for gear this season. I tried a few on at IMS this year. They are sweet, especially for the $. Made my HJC feel as crappy as it looks.

Note though, I wear an HJC medium, and only fit a Scorpion Large. I don't know if the padding would beat down or not, but a medium was way too tight.

I think the sunshield is the best idea I've seen in a helmet of ANY price.

I currently wear an ICON Mainframe that has been pretty good so far, but all my complaints with it are addressed in the Scorpion (fogging, seemingly fragile shield changing system, and less $).

Looks like I need to go try one on.

they make the changing look simpler than it is . before i ride i always take mine off to clean and i usually have to fiddle with it to get it snapped back on .

I own 7 helmets now. The EXO 1000 will probably be my 8th. I really like the convenience of the flip-down sunscreen, provided it's optically pure.
The pump thing I can take or leave. If it works, fine. If not, I don't have to fiddle with it all the time.

Scorpion makes really good helmets according to independent tests. I've been thinking of picking up one when it's time to retire my Arai.

Of all my helmets, my new scorpion exo-400 is my best. And that's the cheap one!

I've got an exo-700, nice helmet, good fit, and I've never noticed extreme wind noise unless I open the visor. The little rubber breath deflector keeps popping out but otherwise I like it. I'd love to have a sun-shield so I don't have to cram shades around my head.

Woody's right: visor changes aren't as effortless as demonstrated on the video but they're pretty damn easy nontheless.

I had an exo-400 and it was decent for the money. It did have a lot of wind noise and it was rather large (shell size). I wear a medium so it should have been the smaller shell compared to large-xxl. The visor swap really is just about that easy. IDK if I would do it on the bike with my gloves on but it only takes seconds to swap. I liked that. Needless to say i cracked it up and I am going to try something else. Just looking for less wind noise mostly. I don't like the vents all over the helmet, they just add to the noise. This seems to be a decent helmet but the inflatable cheek pads seems like it would be just like the shoes (dumb).

If it vents well it will have wind noise. They go hand in hand.

Scorpion is by far the best helmet for the money.

Not exactly true. It has been known that riders will wear their chosen brand, but with a different helmet sponsor stickers. It would be very unlikely for a rider to wear a helmet that he wasn't comfortable with just for the sake of sponsorship, so quality and safety will always be higher on the list than money (or should be!).

It is also very common with exhaust and brake pad sponsorship to use one product but advertise another.

Scorpion helmets are not sold outside the USA as far as I know, so it would be unlikely that MotoGP riders would be contracted to wear them, unless it was a US rider of course.

Are these helmets manufactured in the US?

I personally liked the pump shoes. Since I have long skinny feet, the pump shoes actually worked very nicely for me. I think it is a great idea for the helmet because I have puffy cheeks and usually have to buy smaller pads. Having the inflatable pads will make it more comfortable for a larger group of people without having to change parts out. As far as helmet sizing, they are all different. I wear an X-large Arai and it's tight. My Large Shoei is slightly loose. My friend has and EXO-700 and the anti-fog works better than anything. He loves it and paid half of what my Shoei cost. The flip down sunshade is quite common in European helmets. I've seen both Schubert and Justissimo with it and it's a very nice feature. I'll be checking out the EXO-1000 pretty hard when it comes out.

What turned me on most about the exo1000 is the sun shield. I like having a clear shield at night and some sun protection during the day without having to fiddle with an extra shield.

Trojan, According to Scorpion, it looks like they are manufactured in an unnamed third world country...
"ScorpionExo™ is, quite simply, the next wave in motorcycle helmet and protective gear design and manufacturing. ScorpionExo™ Helmets are engineered by some of the world's most sought-after helmet designers, with over 178 years of cumulative experience. And their wild, innovative graphic designs are created in hotbeds of extreme-sports creativity all over the world, from Europe to Southern California, to stay two steps ahead in this fast-moving field.

The Scorpion Sports factory—The Big Nest—is a state-of-the-art, 810,000 sq. ft. campus, staffed by as many as 400 skilled technicians, each dedicated to crafting the world's best protective headgear. Many helmet brands simply private-label helmets purchased from generic mass manufacturers. And most other helmet brands sub-contract major portions of their manufacturing to smaller vendors. Scorpion does not-because we want to control every operation, every detail, to insure optimum quality, confidence-inspiring integrity and utmost efficiency. This attention to detail is showcased by the fact that every ScorpionExo™ motorcycle helmet is certified by the Snell Foundation—the most demanding helmet safety standard in the world.

The U.S. headquarters (The Nest) for Scorpion Sports is located in Lake Forest, CA. The 37,700 sq. ft. nerve center and warehouse includes the latest computerized technology for order entry, inventory management, customer service and order tracking. Isham....I don't share your blinded enthusiasm.

I like the recessed sun shield. Right now I have to carry a spare visor for my commute. It is still dark when I leave in the morning a sunny for the trip home.

Doesn't Nolan already offer a sun shield, but I think it is external. I tried on of them on and they did not fit my head shape.

Far as the rest. Just marketing nonsense.

For the record their fog proof helmet kicks ass.

"Feel the sting". Somewhat of an unfortunate ad slogan for a helmet.

I have a Schubert with an inner shade. It works well.

True...Ricky Carmichael signed a huge deal with Berik ( a lesser MX boot, though good for road) a couple of years ago, but for his last season he is back with Fox. truly a money deal.

I will definitely be interested in this helmet.
I have an exo-400 and have been very happy with it. I have kind of a long head (front to back), and I don't get the pressure on my forhead like all the other helmets had.

+1 for the EXO-400 being a great all around helmet.

The Sunshade is genius in my book.

I had a Bell helmet 10 years ago that pumped up at your cheeks and around the back of your head. I really liked how it felt. It was for Downhill moutainbike racing. The price was 300 bucks and I broke it in a crash on a BMX track. That's more money than I've ever spent on a helmet sense I've been buying my own.

I have an exo700 and love it and thought it was much quieter than my HJC ac11. Sizing was the same for both helmets and I was told that you could buy the whole liner in different sizes to make in between sizes. Might be helpful for some people. I also like the exo1000 for its sunshield. I bought the photochromatic shield for my exo700 but it was expensive ($70) and would have just bought the exo1000 if it was available a few months ago.

Holy CRAP I want one of these! That built in sun shade is EXACTLY what I've been needing. I've got the Exo-700 with their new Shadeshifter visor, but it hardly tints at all, so I find myself still needing some extra protection. This would be perfect!

The pump idea I guess is alright, but I wouldn't expect it to last very long.

Did I miss the part where they list the price, and when it's available?
