Hooligan, Cityxslicker sent me this. I don't know who did the photoshop work. Mine will be similar, but I wont be using the Uly front fender. Just a standard lightning/firebolt front fender. And mine will be the fastest color... RED!

Steve,
With the longer front fork, what are your plans for protecting the tubes? The S or R fenders are too short. |

Ft_bstrd, dunno, haven't thought about it to tell you the truth. There is only like 7/8" of an inch more exposed than the standard XBs, wasn't really going to worry about it to tell you the truth.

The bike will be red(all the body work), So I'm going to powdercoat the tail section rails the same color as the frame, and the grab rails that hold the "triple tail" red to give it some contrast. And I'll be making my own XB12RXSTT badge to replace the XB12X Ulysses badge on the rails. |

I live in Spanaway and work in Oly, so your neck of the woods is right up my alley! I got a co-worker who's hubby works for Gen. Dynamics. He is the guy who writes all the training manuals for the different Stryker variants. Then goes and trains you guys. |

Terribletim, sounds good. I have rode with some of the other Badweatherbikers from the area during special events like when E. Buell signed bikes at DHD in Seattle. I think I own the only yellow XB9R in the area. Every once in a great while I will seen another Buell but for the most part down south and on Ft. Lewis we are few and far between.  |

Well, as of Saturday, MOST of the parts were in to Hals. Still waiting on the headlights from Rallylights. And I have to bead blast the Uly rails, and grab rail for Powdercoat. So it will be most like 3-4 weeks until it's done. |

Actually, just talked to Bud over at Hals today. Sounds like all the parts are there. And I pick the bike and the parts up tonight!
I might bolt it all together before powder coating. Not sure yet... |

See, if I bolt it up NOW, I doubt I will ever take it back apart for powder coating.
Budc from Hals has pics of the pile of parts. It filled the back of the wife's mini-van.
I rode the bike home tonight. Damn is that suspension lots more compliant over the rough stuff.
Not even 5 miles from the dealership, a guy about 5 car lengths back, and in the turn lane, yells "HEY!!! HEY!!! Is that a Buell?" and proceeds to give me a thumbs up after my nod. The wife laughed as she was right behind me playing delivery van for the new parts to drop off at work.
The bike REALLY looks a lot better in person VS on the web site. |

Wow! the look of a Firebolt, the riding position of the TT and the carrying capacity of the X. Long frame, increased suspension travel all wrapped in red. Love the mock-up can't wait to see the finished product! |

I get that look too. Like today when I gleefully plucked a rear pulley from a box of shredded paper.

Hey Steve,
I sent this to Court a little while ago. I thought since you're now the "King Of Mods" you might have an idea.
"Hey Court, maybe you can help me with this one: I had a customer call today wanting to put a sidecar on to a Buell. He wanted to know what model would accept a sidecar. I would guess if it 's possible it would have to be a "tuber" of some sort-like and S2 or S3. Is this even possible? Let me know what you think."

It has been done, an M-2 if I recall.
It takes some thinking and some innovation. The power delivery and torque characteristics were cited the last time as I recall.
I think that was in 1998. |

with that comfy seat and the backrest i could really kick on the cruise, lay down and relax when we go for a ride! and with that extra room under the tail section i bet we could fit atleast a 5 pound bottle of go juice there! |
