Ok, so my bike hasn't been sounding normal lately, so got under and inspected.. Here's the problem. I'm going to email Kevin and see if this can be salvageable or not.. I really hope so, because I don't want to drop another $500.. No idea when this happened or even how, Guessing bottomed out somewhere in the city at one point.

It just needs a little JB weld and a skid plate... |

Good muffler shop should re-weld no problem. Bet you don't have to pay more than $50 (unless the mounts and headers are bent too) |

so it is re-weldable.. I have plenty of friends who are welders, so maybe I can just show to them and see if it's something they can fix. Im also waiting to get Kevin's advice on it. |

Yeah, just get it fixed locally. Shouldn't be very much. And quit jumpin curbs! |

haha.. who told you. The streets just get too crowded sometimes, so you just have to man up.. Unfortunately problems like this occur, that's why I need a supermotard for around the city. |

Before you fix it look and see how much packing you lost out of that hole. |

I welded a little skid plate on the back of my muffler because of that very problem. |

You are in NY, get Henrik to weld it for you. (Henrik needs a little prompting to go get that welder he has been drooling over for the last two years ) |

Henrik needs a little prompting... I usually need *very* little prompting to buy tools, however funding demands I choose between getting the SV track ready OR buy more shop toys ... Henrik |

C'mon Henrik, you are loosing your edge! *Surely* you can come up with something that you need for the track bike that you could buy off the shelf for $80... ... but instead buy a $1000 welder and spend 30 hours fabricating some doodad that only half works anyway. You know, like a track stand or gps mount or something... Not that I have done that or anything.

Just hammer it back to pretty normal and weld it up... You might try to get the bottom somewhat shaped correctly though as that's right where the straps are. |

The only problem is that I am carrying in my messenger bag on the subway to ship it out at my office and the top half is sticking out, looks kinda like a bomb.. My sister told me not to shave for a couple of days and watch people sweat. |
