Despite all of my bitching about the bike I have NEVER gotten personal with anyone on this board until they do first. It is a simple rule I live by.

Those that choose to throw about names and judge a persons life or happiness based on the opinions they have about a motorcycle are indeed of small mind. But then again this is a Buell enthusiasts forum.....................

Now I have to go so throw about some more crap as I will be unable to reply until later tonight. Not to late though as because me and my miserable unhappy, bitter self are going to be playing with the hot air balloon in Temecula early tomorrow morning............

Did I ever mention just how bad it sucks to be forced to drink Champagne at 9:00am with my clients? I mean the horror of it all!

You could just donate your crappy bike to a good cause. Maybe make it a race bike, don't they tape up the headlights anyway? I had an old Ninja like that. Pissed me off so bad I actually kicked it over on purpose. Should of done a carfax on your bike. That's too bad you don't like Buell anymore. Just too bad.

So, I'd like to see a pic of what is actually wrong, or I'd love to see this thread closed. I could care less about his "history". He is obviously tired of the bike, move on.

I'm the new guy but damn this is a lot of SPAM.

Skyguy,

I understand your frustration. I would be pissed as well. Unfortunately, you've crossed over into the realm of "crazy cat lady, homeless guy that talks to himself, or acute Turret's Syndrome sufferer.

The only people that even bother with these threads are folks that want to work to piss you off, folks like me that are hanging around to watch, and new people who don't know any better.

Therefore you are going to get one of only three responses: complete ridicule, smart as "pokings with a stick", and WTF posts.

You obviously make enough money that you could buy any bike you would like. A few thousand bucks would piss me off to drop out of my pocket, but if keeping it ate my soul, I would give it up. You live in friggin' California. You probably crap gold bricks as it is.

Sell your bike, give it away, do whatever you need to do to move on. I know you shouldn't have to, but that is the way it is going to be.

You will not get the satisfaction you want here. I'm sorry, but you just won't.

It’s been pretty well documented that anything above the standard 55 watt bulb will melt the plastic headlight shell. If what’s stock just isn’t good enough for you, the entire headlight assembly can be replaced quite easily.

Not trying to make it personal, i myself am in a piss poor mood today and you happened to get the poke. Sorry about that!

I have been a tech (professionally) for 11 years, I have had to make a few repairs I thought were silly on my bike(and still covered under warranty) but you dont see endless threads about it, I also dont crap in every other thread about my bike.

They are not perfect machines, But badweb is like church for Buell enthusiasts, you would not walk into a catholic church and scream Satan is my homeboy and expect anything less than what you get here for screaming my Buell is a piece.

Oh, and if I did shave my legs that would be a little weird, my wife might leave me.

Yeah, pretty much what Ft_ said. It's pretty obvious Sky's not really looking for product "satisfaction" anymore, he's just trolling around here to see what kind of reaction he can get. I agree, I'd be pissed as hell to have his bike woes, but it's seriously old news and there's nothing we can do about it. The constant banter is tiring, and I imagine several people are rolling their eyes at all the chest-puffing and bragging.

The mods have been awfully tolerant of this mess, probably because we can all sympathize a bit. But enough already. Can we please just ban his IP or something and be done with it? I think it would be best for all of us, Sky included. I don't think he's gonna' get over this without an intervention.

Sky, I really do feel bad about the bike stuff. I hope the next one you choose doesn't cause so much grief. Best of luck!

What a fine piece of engineering..........

Steve, I am a damm fine mechanic.

They have melted about 1/4 inch of the plastic surrounding the headlight bulb itself.

But you still installed them knowing what you already knew. Ref: I am a damm fine mechanic.

Total Posts: 1479 and still going

you ride your bike, you service your bike, you select and agree to purchase your parts and self install them. you have asked several question but disagree with all answers ( sorry most ).

If you lived closer to to me I would offer to do a 1 time tear down rebuild ( you pay for parts 1 time on any found bad parts. not oil and seals) and warranty all our work for a duration of 2 years ( excluding wear items ) as long as you never touched it with a wrench, screw driver or any tool for that matter,( for that time frame) to prove where your problems lie. I have seen to many Buells and to many self induced problems to say you have a friday built bike.

Banning people is a real hassle. You gotta remember the admin username and then the password; then you gotta remember where to click and what the username you were supposed to ban, then you gotta do some checking on the IP cause you can't just go off half-cocked banning every IP that flies in your face, nosiree. Then you gotta send a diplomatic respectful email to the bannee to try to lead the angst and consternation into some form of semi-understanding, at least respectful disagreement.

People who brag about doing physical harm to others should not be taken lightly.

Then there's the issue of having had more than a few disgruntled malicious types perpetrate attacks on the BadWeB server and discussion board, some crude, some more nefarious and costly.

Others less evil will huff and puff and blather away every chance they get all over the internet for years waging derision and character assassination against the mean old BadWeB custodians and even--yeah you won't believe this--meek friendly old me. Can you believe it? "Nazi", "racist pig", "liar", any manner of vulgar insults and such.

Ya gotta stop sometimes and think, if someone can get so incredibly twisted up over a motorcycle, imagine what might happen if they turn the focus of their discontent upon a human being.

<sigh> I just want to enjoy God's gifts on this Earth and in my life. Mostly that's family, friends, and good people all around. My motorcycle is my meditation device and it is darn entertaining to ride. But I'd never ever let it have such a negative effect on me as some allow.

Sometimes it's not so bad to let a fool open his mouth, again, and again, and again. Sooner or later they'll figure it out. Well, most do.

Is it lunchtime yet?

Anyone here not aware of the drive for BadWeB calendar pics? See the topic in the Quick board. We are looking at 12"x12" format this year which amounts to an additional 50% more photo page acreage to cover. So PLEASE SEND me your best Buell related pics asap! We need all we can find! Please be sure they are your own and okay for publishing, no pics pulled from websites and such. Thanks! More info in the Quick board Calendar topic, the one with the big bold font. : )

I have been riding XBs since they 1st came out, the best, most trouble free bikes I ever bought, and the most fun as well. My "tubers" were for the most part trouble free also.
Last month after noticing my lights seemingly getting dimmer on my XB12R, I thought I would try the spoon removal "fix" I read about on several threads here. Most of you know what I found already. Those headlight housings are about the worst parts I've ever seen, I can't recall ever seeing chrome just evaporate off of a headlight housing before.
Should BMC replace them even out of warranty, sure should, it's a safety issue.
Will it prevent me from enjoying my XB, no. Would it keep me from buying another Buell, not in this lifetime.

My Buell is the first bike I ever considered keeping for the long run (meaning until I'm dead). I'll buy other motorcycles, but I love my 6 year old M2 so much, I don't want to get rid of it.

I made a statement that came off as me trying to be funny, but it's absolutely true... "I can't wait to be an eccentric old man, roaring and clattering down the street in my old Buell".

Hell, I'm almost there now...

I don't know, I've seen lots of folks here on the board bitch about problems with their Buells. (myself included)
My personal experience with Buells is pretty good, and I've racked up lots of miles on my Buells. (all 5 of them)
I've had issues that were dealer caused, but never have I found a serious issue that was caused by BMC.
With over 150,000 miles on one of my S2's, (which does have a pretty dim headlight), and about 50,000 split between the S1 and city-X, (both also have pretty dim headlights), I still can't find a serious reason to bitch or whine about the bike or the BMC.
I admit, the headlights SHOULD be higher quality, but hey, that's what the aftermarket is for. If the housing won't accept aftermarket bulbs due to melting, replace the whole unit!

I've had worse issues with my Honda's, and certainly had too many problems to list with my Harleys.
These threads really give me a chuckle.
Thanks for making my day!

If I can throw in my 2 cents worth...ignore this chronic Drama Queen. I have read several of his post and it seems 90% are not about his Buell as much as they are about his feelings. You want him to go away? Just ignore his post...or give him a big sympathetic hug and a bottle of Midol - Works for my wife...on second thought she nags more than ever. Better stick to the ignoring tactic or we may never be rid of him.
