I stopped by the newly opened stand alone Buell dealership, about 5 minutes from where I live. Which, believe it or not has more buells then any other bikes. Pretty sweet! This shop is almost too big for Buell just because they haven't been there long enough to fill up the void. They have a tiny selection of shirts and hats but thats all. Hopefully more of these shops will pop up nation wide.

I hope that this is the future of Buell.

It is probably a test to see if/how well it works.

Don't get too excited - yet! While the shop has a small selection of hats, shirts, etc. it is otherwise empty. They do have a pretty decent inventory of Buells though.

The shop is located in the old Seminole HD building on 17/92 in Fern Park, just west of Semoran Blvd. This is just east of Orlando, FL for those wondering where it's located.

They will be selling choppers out of there too.

The new Seminole HD location in Sanford will continue to sell Buells too in case anyone was wondering.

They do have the location up on Buell.com, but there is not a website for the dealership itself yet.

I really like the idea of this.

When can we get Dave one too? ;)

WHOOO HOOO!! EVERY bueller in FL should visit this store immediately and buy a hat, t-shirt, etc, and in the future if you are even reasonably close to this place, buy your bikes there! Encourage the Trend!!!

Irideabuell, Thanks for filling them in. I don't know if its a new direction for BMC. I certainly think it's great to have it pop up 10 minutes from me. Since it's owned by Seminole HD it's still sort of a franchise and was the individual owner's idea to put up this shop. Since It's not driven by BMC, It's up buell fanatics to open up their own stand alone. Maybe buell is in some way sponsoring this shop because of the growing stunt market in florida. I have noticed that buell is attacking the stunting market by way of stunt shows, These guys here are showing that buells are stunt worthy. http://www.teamx-treem.net/
At stuntober fest the host (Team Xtreem rider) said that Buell is the only manufacturer that has stepped up to support stunting. Is the ST supposed to be a bike designed to attract stunt riders? I kind of think so. All it lacks is a cage built from the factory. All of this cemented itself in my mind when I met a Team x-treem rider at Dukes last Thursday's bike night.

Everything i've said above is just pure speculation and my opinion and should be treated as such.

I want to run a Buell shop! It would be a dream come true.

Buell custom shop, repairs and maintenance plus a shytload of Buell gear and accessories.

Maybe I'd keep one or two Harleys in the showroom just for heck of it.

We HAD a Buell only shop about 4 years ago called Buell Holeshot Performance. I went there a few times, but it had very little staffing and very little merch other than the bikes.

Since then, that store was demolished instead of remodeled into a VERY nice Buell shop due to the $$$ millions it was going to cost. For near the same money, we are adding 22,000 additional square feet to our store and getting a very nice Buell section here, fully stocking gear, clothes, all models, parts, you get the drift. Right now I just have my couple racks and stage with about room for 6 models at a time.

It's nice to see someone else is taking a stab at a new shop though. Hopefully that make the presentation nice enough to draw in first time customers.

I'd like to see a sportbike dealer with all the big names including Buell. Kind of like Bert's Megamall. Even though I hate Bert's, I like the concept of being able to throw my leg over all those different bikes and compare side by side.

While I want more than anything to own my own Buell dealership, this is not completely a stand alone Buell dealer. It is under it's own roof but the owners also have a Harley franchise which is required to own a Buell franchise. This is a serious hold back for BMC as the customer base is very different from Harley's customer base. Plus there are lots of people that would probably like a Buell, but won't step foot in a Harley dealership. I know, I was one of them for years. I would really love a franchise if they would sell one to me. Just imagine a Buell dealership run by people who get Buells! For now I will keep sitting here with my fingers crossed and continue to spread the word.

Well I have been saying they should try stand alone dealerships for some time. I didn't know you could have a Buell dealer without Harley on the same site, but it appears you can. Good luck to them. Prove our theory!

I don't think it matters whether it's inside a dealership or a stand alone. What matters is whether there are passionate, competent, and dedicated Buell folks to market the products and service people to service them after the sale. It will be interesting to see what happens when Buell is ALL you have to sell and service.

I like the idea of the stand alone only because they are being sold and serviced by Buell folks. They aren't being sold and serviced by folks that would rather not or are doing it part time.

I get good competent service at a HD dealership. I get to talk with the owner. I get to talk with the service manager. I ordered the airbox at my local dealer (want to spend money locally when I can). The service manager's comment was "yeah, I'd do that too. It should open it up nicely." I didn't get any crap about voiding the warranty. I didn't get any puzzled looks. He just placed my order. It ain't his first Rodeo! When I buy, I'll buy from them.

They do have like two T-Shirts, though.

I stopped by the Seminole shop a week or so ago and talked to Gilbert for a while. He seemed pretty enthused about the prospects of the shop. Buells and used HD's is what he told me that they were going to sell. I filled him in on this site and some others. I will be needing a new tire soon so I will give them some business.
Anyone in central FL remember when Dick Framer had his stand alone Buell building?

Yeah Frank, Gilbert is who I talked to when I stopped by during the first week they were open. He was a nice guy and seemed very enthusiastic about the prospects of attracting more people to Buell.

I guess I should stop by this week. When I stopped that first week they only had about 12 Buells and bare walls.

Why not just put them in the restroom....perhaps with a custom toilet seat in place of the regular one!

Support these guys doing stand alones! Please! And tell Gilbert to sell used metric sportbikes, not used H-D's if he wants the right clientele.

I did say "Maybe"...If I was to have HDs they'd be race ready, not cruisers (flat trackers, drag, customs etc.)
