I have installed fuel injectors from the V-Rod Destroyer and been working on the fuel maps with the Direct Link software to get the bike to run great!! It loves the current setup and I think there are only a few more weeks of testing before I will consider it 100%!! I have a bit more time to do on the dyno to make sure things are just like I want them and I expect to see ~130 hp and 110 ft/lbs of torque at 6 psi of boost. Remember that this setup maintains the stock engine components and is still a great bike for around town!!

neat stuff, and I like the look of the dark frame, but what the heck is the stuff underneath? ( is that a finned piece, or a toothed cog for something?)

It is the Aquamist water injection pump. A really neat extruded aluminum piece that helps keep the pump cool!!

Eric, that is probably the prettiest Lightning I have seen, yes, including mine. I can't see the muffler, is there one and where is it? I am going to be sending you a p.m. in a minute.

The muffler is mounted on the left side, below the frame and above the oil cooler. I believe it is a quiet one.

Yeah that setup would definitely not work on my '06 bike. Different frame. It's a shame.

Hidden license plate! You aren't violating speed laws, are you?
Best looking XB I have seen so far. Nice pics also. Two gauges on the handlebars. What for?

And what finish on the headers? How loud is that sucker? My guess is VERY loud.

My guess is very quiet, until the revs get up, but still quieter than my Micron. Turbos really quiet down the exhaust.

Sound about right?

Sweet Turbo XB! I may have to make a northern journey one of these days and check that thing out. Do you plan to market, produce and sell these turbo kits for the XB lineup?

an 06 will be harder to do since there is no passage through the frame like there is
on the earlier models.

As a self-proclaimed moron, what does the frame passage have to do with anything?

that's where the compressed air for the intake leaves the turbo and makes its way to the throttle body under the airbox cover.

Weird, I was just thinking about what happened to the Buell turbo experiment yesterday. I'm glad to see it's still on track. I see you live in Florida. Will you be at Daytona in the Spring?

My guess on the guages ,if its the same as my xb is boost and oil pressure, its the only 2 things that turboed bikes care about. Feel free to give me a shot at a 06 model. MMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm , I have already started making the pipework in my head. Most wicked, Almost wish mine was a 06, I see twin piping like the old zxr's being cut into the airbox cover !. Why do we mount the turbos on the left and you mount them on the right ?. Even your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car. LOL.

Excellent conversion, and all the details are very nicely integrated as well.

If I could take the liberty of making a suggestion or two, it would be to add frame pucks, perhaps painted to match the frame: it would be terrible to see a dent in that lovely bike.

Secondly, I would think about replacing the belt with chain unless I had a very good reason to think the stock belt could handle the increased amount of power. There are a lot of chain conversions around today, and some of them are very reasonably priced.

On the aesthetic side, I have always been a fan of the American Sport Bike seat cowl for Lightnings: it provides a stronger visual termination than the stock seat alone.

Congratulations and well done! Keep up the good work!

Do you mix Isopropyl alcohol with your water injection? Just wondering, i had a set up on my truck and used a mix for the added octane.

By the way, I did the same thing with my license plate, except my license plate bracket has a back-off light on it.

Docktor, the two are boost and a digital tach/shift light. The bike hits the rev limiter too quick now and a shift light is needed for sure!!

I am going to be working on a design for the new model frames as well.

The bike would do well with frame pucks but I like the lines of the frame and feel the pucks may interrupt things. I like the seat cowl but prefer the look of the select seat. When I come up with some more money I will go to a chain conversion. I may keep the belt on the 12S and do the chain conversion on an R model when I buy one for the turbo setup.

I have not used alcohol yet with the water injection but may try it after a bit.

Thanks Ken!! Hope everything is going well your way!!

I am still managing 45 mpg fuel economy!!!

The rear rotor is a piece by Braking Under Control, an English company I believe.

Give me a mail on the new frame design Ericz, I sent you some info in an email last night too. Have a read thru and get back to me when you get time. Been looking at shift lights but at this stage I have moved redline to 7000. I have not to this time had a problem with the belt in any way, when and if I notice fatigue I may look at chain but I have tortured mine with no ill effects to date.
