Well, it happened AGAIN, gone down on the bike twice. First time was on August 17th, and that is already posted, and now it's i went down again. Sept. 24th, at about 3:05 pm. Did a wheelie and came down pretty hard and it snapped my wrist on the throttle and i lost controll. same knee as the last time, but this time about 5 times as big. Just look at the pictures to see. Damage on the bike is less than last time. Shift lever snapped off, left peg snapped in half, the left turn signal snapped, scratched up the frame puck, and scracthed the rear swingarm.

what it looked like before they did anything to it

same as first but different angle

another angle

after they cleaned all the crap out but before they closed it up

28 staples later, and as good as new, I WISH!!!!!

That's rough......this might take a little longer to heal. Did you have on gear...I'm guessing not.

Wishing you a quick recovery with no long lasting damage.

I think you can actually see the remnants of the Band-Aid from the first spill in the first, third, and fourth pic.

I know stunting has a certain "wardrobe" that doesn't include much protective gear but from one who has been down a half dozen times in the past few years at speeds up to 130+ MPH, I might recommend dressing up a bit more.

-and from one rider to another - I'm glad the bike didn't suffer quite as badly since often our first thought after the dust settles is "How's my bike?"

Heal well!

Luck had little to do with this IMHO.
Did not you learn from the last time the correct gear was needed?
From the last time:
i just wish i had better jeans on, cause when i hit, the ground ripped through them like butter.
Better jeans?
For riding, you need armor.
I know you're hurting, and it hurts me to see the images posted, but damn dude! Learn from your mistakes, and don't blame it on luck.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but, man you need to think about what you're doing, and how you're going about it.

Some of this armor can go under your jeans, so you don't lose your "cool" factor.

Get ye armor!

I pray you will heal quickly and have a complete recovery.

From your profile - Personal quote: "I refuse to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death" (got from Tim Hackbart, thanks)

Looks like you are trying to reach your destination as quickly as possible. Take it easy for a while. Practice your wheelies on a little 50cc in full gear.

Hey, you can still see the original perfectly round little hole from last time - is that what that is?

Yuck.

I hope you heal up quickly. At least the season is changing to winter, so you won't miss much.

Even though I was wearing everything but proper pants LAST time, I didn't have any skin injuries (my left glove took a good hit but still serviceable). I went down sliding at about 40-50 MPH. I am looking for some PANTS. I often wear Leather Chaps to avoid skin injuries but would like some padding. I'm Thinking Icon...but I DO like leather.

JuniorKirk,

I am willing to bet, had you had on full protective gear on (yes even leather pants or a 1 piece) the injuries would have been a lot less severe but maybe you would just have received a sore body.

Your knee armor would have taken that hit rather than your actual knee. Is that not worth the price to pay vice having to go through this. I just cant fathom why people ride without gear. Especially stunters whom should be using it more than anyone (not sure if your in this category or not). And on top of this not even a month ago you had a previous incident? What is it going to take to get you to wear the right gear?

Your only 19 years old. Dont you want to live another 19 years? If you dont wear the proper gear for yourself then wear it to save yourself for your families sake. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop riding until you get the gear! Just remember if you continue on this path one day you may not be getting up from your accident.

I know I sound like a broken record but I just hope the point we are all making gets across. Please dont take this post in any way as a flame or a finger pointing as that is not what it is meant to be. It is meant as an eye opener and a plea to buy some protective gear to save your hide when and if this happens again. I along with everyone here on this site doesnt want to see something like this happen to ANYONE which is why were so dedicated to preaching the "wear your gear at all times," moto.

In closing I wish you a speedy recovery and hope your feeling better sooner rather than later. Take care.

Luck is the product of circumstances.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

i was told by a lot of the doctors at the hospital that gear wouldnt have helped me even if i was wearing a million dollars worth of protection. My knee was bent pretty far on that peg, and the skin was stretched pretty tight. and when i went down that first wound acted as a starter to rip it open farther. It hyper extended the skin. Kinda like slicing the skin on something and pulling it really hard to make it rip, thats what happened to me. I've learned that i'm not riding until this this is FULLY healed this time, that way i have a better chance at not having it torn wide open because of tension on the skin.

Its feeling better, i dont have to take as much pain pills to get rid of the pain, and hopefully i will get the staples out next tuesday. I've had to miss work all this week and it really sucks, nothing to do other than sit around and being bored, lol.

Thank you everyone for wishing me a quick recovery, and i think this one will heal as fast as the last one.

Kirk D.

two more things.

1.) i am trying to sell the bike. Just trying to find someone that will take over the payments (about $8,500 left on it). It's an '06 Thrust Blue XB12R.

2.) the red text of GRAPHIC PICTURES is pretty cool, sure caught my eye when i clicked on XBoard, haha.

Junior, ever wonder why you're called that?

A 19 / 20 year old on an XB12 needs to display some form of discipline and maturity.

When I was your age I was falling of Suzuki and Yamaha 250's, if at all. Young guns on big bikes doing what you're doing just gives us all a bad name.

Get shut before you don't see 21.

Heal well.

The bike got off better than me like the first time. My dad ended up riding it hope, all though he griped about being stuck in first gear cause the shifter lever is snapped off. I really wish that i would have been better off than the bike, i can deal with a wrecked bike. Although i am getting pretty use to pain now a days, lol.

"i was told by a lot of the doctors at the hospital that gear wouldnt have helped me even if i was wearing a million dollars worth of protection."

You'd better start listening to the advice these riders with years and years of experience are trying to tell you. Just the fact that you tried to justify not wearing the proper gear says a great deal about you.

For God's sake... don't give ANY advice to new riders.

"If you haven't gone down, you will. And if you have, your going to do it again."

and again...and again... and again

Maybe it's time you start thinking about your family, and their feelings and emotions. Be responsible, wear the PROPER GEAR.. or just hang it up. This is the dumbest thing in the world... you were f*cking around.. without gear.. and you got hurt.. no sh*t really?!

Sell the bike (good luck getting 8500) and buy a bus pass.
