This past weekend I went to the Chatterbox (NJ) with a group of friends, and this was the first time they saw my bike. Most of them have Harleys, and one of the first comments I overheard, while eating breakfast, was one guy turning to his friend and saying that my bike was a "Harley wannabe"... My reply "Thats like calling a Ferrari a Fiat, as Fiat owns Ferrari".

That got all of them laughing, and I came untop - I guess now I'm really part of this group. I want to thank the the guy that posted this comment some weeks ago!

Also, I stopped at a gas station, the guy circles my bike, and then asks " Whats this?" I point to the name on the tank, and he says "yeah, but who makes it? Is it Italian?" I very proudly say "ITS AMERICAN!" His reply " Can't be!!" LOL made me laugh.

This past weekend, out taking a ride, pulled into a gas station where a small group of dresser riders (CT) were havin' a cee-gar. HD, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, etc... a real cross section. Got much attention from the group... maybe cause I was their age and older? Ridin' a naked, ground poundin', asphalt rippin' Buell. They were a nice bunch. I could tell they could party hardy and ride hard. Their biggest reaction was power-to-weight cause I had more HP than most of them and 1/2 the weight. One guy had quite a belly and said he'd love to ride one but didn't know where to put his gut! LOL! I had a good laugh with them, then kept going... thru Monadnoc Mt. area, southern NH.

"Thats like calling a Ferrari a Fiat, as Fiat owns Ferrari".

Wouldn't that equate more like "Thats like calling a Buell a Harley-Davidson, as Harley-Davidson owns Buell?"

I don't really see how that supports your prod of the other riders. You can make fun of others for their ignorance but does that make Buell riders less ignorant?

I guess he would have been more correct to say, "That's like calling a Ferrari a Fiat wannabe, as Fiat owns Ferrari." But, I think that's getting too nit-picky. Everyone got a good laugh and I don't believe Bueaddicted looked ignorant at all.
