I had a really good buying experience at Biggs in San Marcos (San Diego) with my CityX, however I live in OC and we have no dealers. So I am debating whether to have Biggs service the bike or Glendale (I heard they are the best), as either is a hike. With traffic, time to get to either is about the same, with Biggs being an easier drive. I was impressed by Biggs friendly staff, selection of Buells, new facility and a nice service dept. Any insight or experience?

I can't say either way if Glendale or Biggs is better. I can say one thing, however. If you go to Biggs, you can also stop at American Sport Bike on the same trip. That by itself makes it worth the gamble to head south.

Biggs does a nice job. They have serviced my bike over the last three years.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. And I have already ordered some things from Al, he is great. Next time I go to Biggs I am gonna stop by American Sport Bike too.

I discovered that I could service my own bike in less time than it takes to get to the closest Harley dealer that is really Buell Friendly, Liberty HD.

Liberty does a good job on Buells most of the time, but they are 125 miles away. So between getting there and back we are talking 500 miles and 10 hours.

Buells normally don't require much in the way of repairs, and routine maintenance is extremely straightforward, especially once one has purchased the Shop Manual and parts manual.

Changing the oil and filter is about a half hour job once you get the hang of it, and buying the oil and filter at walmart cost less than $20 for Mobil One. Between gas, tolls and dealer rates, I am saving some very real money doing it myself.

An even bigger advantage to the " do it yourself" approach is that you learn more about your bike, and have more confidence in it.

just my .02¢

I work on my Sporty, but as long as the Buell is in the warranty period and I have little experience with the bike, I'll have it serviced. It is a peace of mind thing for me. That way I can go out and have fun and not second guess myself.
