So I just got my 06 Kick Ash Air box, took the Buell logos off, then pulled off the X....but is held on with super glue. What can I use to get the glue off with out messing up the air box? Or should i just not risk messing it up and glue it back on. It dont look that bad but id rather not have it on. Thanks

Goo gone or something to that effect should work to get the glue off and if the X is still in good shape I would like to buy it from you if you are willing to sell it

Goo Gone might be too strong, I use it a lot @ work and I've seen it do strange things to different plastics. It may be fine but check it on an edge or somewhere not obvious. WD-40 has some good luck getting stickers and adhesives off, but again, test it out first. Those translucent plastics are really easy to stain or blemish. I like those airbox covers also. But like you, am not a fan of the X. Let us know how it goes.

Well the logos were no problem. I just heated them with light heat from a heat gun and pulled them off. I did the same with the X and its held on with super glue. If I dont get the glue off by wed im just gonna glue it back on.

I took the x off my bike and have been having trouble getting rid of the leftover x residue . I have a small buffer and the novus 1&2 and still after 3 buffing sessions the super glue residue is still there and very visible . I am at a loss at how to really get rid of it . I am at the point of giving up , what is the best glue to glue the x back down with or should i just go with the streetfighter theme and bolt it down , later dudes

I got a very aggressive automotive trim adhesive from a local body shop.

I already threw the tube away or I would give you the name.

I started with like 400 grit wet paper and worked my way up to 2000 grit and buffed off my glue.
I also sanded off those funny little signs on the inside of the plastic from the mold when they were made. Everyone used to ask what they were so I sanded and buffed them both off of the air box and the flyscreen. I certainly aint fun though.
