XB Board - 45% QuickBoard - 45% Storm Fronts (Sfloridarides)/ Tale Section / knowledge Vault + Search (only when I have a question / misc others = 10% but I AM trying to discipline myself to look at the knowledge vault more and post stuff there when I have info. | ||

I go to the KV when I want to research a particular problem. That would be once in a while. I go to the XB board when ever there is a lull in the computer work, to see if anyone has come up with anything interesting, or has a question that I might be able to possibly help answer. | ||

Probably 90% XBoard and 10% Knowledge Vault. I'd go more but so many people post their problems/answers/etc. specfic to the XB on this board so I always ask/look on here for anything. | ||

The knowledge vault's interface is not as user friendly as the XBboard - so I'm afraid I visit it very rarely. But what the h**l are the "Quickboard", "Stormfronts" and "Old school"? (Message edited by lenb on July 25, 2006) | ||

I don't think I have ever found what I was looking for in the "KV". I have tried several times on different subjects and have the same results. The rest of the board works great for me. I don't know how to make it work better for me, so I go there as a last resort..........Charlie | ||

95% xb board (because thats what i own &i am interested in most any tidbit etc. that applies to the XBs ) and i do find the KV to be hard to navigate (beleive it or not not all of "us" are computer GEEKS.) and thank you Blake for allowing us to use this board ! | ||

Only visit the knowledge vault when I absolutely have to, last few questions posted there got next to nil results. 50% xboard 25% quick 10% classified 15% for all the rest | ||

I usually only check in at the knowledge vault when I need to figger something out. Otherwise, it's the quickboard (my fav) and the xboard for me. Sooooo.... KNOWLEDGE VAULT=1% QUICKBOARD=59% XBOARD=40% | ||

There is a knowledge Vault? I go there once in a while but end up falling back to the XBoard and Quick Board for most of my browsing needs. I hit storm fronts more often than the KV. And Blake has made me feel ashamed.......................  | ||

StormFronts....0% - found no useful info Tail Section....0% - found nothing interesting General Discussion....0% - found no useful info XBoard....75% - not much reason to go anywhere else Old School....15% - my S3T connection Quickboard....0% - not sure why it exists Knowledge Vault....0% - too cumbersome to use Sponsor News, Information, Cool Stuff....10% - when I want to find/buy unique parts/stuff Classified....0% - have never found anything to buy / tried to sell several items, 0 hits. | ||

Let me answer my own question.... XBoard 98% Knowledge Vault 1% Everything Else 1% I like the concept of the Knowledge Vault, but it is difficult to keep up to date on the latest with its stratification of subject material. I visit BWB probably 4-6 times per day, often for only a few moments each time. I just don't have time to work my way through all the sub-topics in the Knowledge Vault. So if it doesn't get posted on XBoard, I probably won't see it. That is, unless I am searching for something specific and it just so happens to show up in the Knowledge Vault. It would appear to make more sense to have the Knowledge Vault serve as an archive for retired threads that contain specific technical advice or information. Of course, this would require someone to parse through the old threads and decided what goes where... a laborious task indeed. | ||

It's worth pointing out, if everyone used the KV from the get go, if they have anything of technical merit or similar to post there, whatever is fresh posted will always be found if the 'search for new messages since I last searched' facility were used by all every time we come to the BadWeB. Putting fresh KV stuff in the right place is of major importance too. Using the search facility, I find remembering 'key' words from certain past threads helps, but a certain amount of patience and time is often required. But then again, there's a lot of information has passed into the archives in 8 years. Rocket |
