I dig it. I don't see why people are suggesting more things for the guy to do - he posts photos under the title Pics of my finished XB, and people are chiming in with ideas of what to do next. The guy just finished. I'd want to take a breath and enjoy the sensation for awhile before taking advice from others about how I could make it better in their eyes . . .

Actually upon re-reading I realize that not that many people offered improvement tips. My bust. I think it looks cool - the single headlight is a great looking mod I think.

This just looks like a box of bits bolted together to me. The single header is way out of place. The projector headlamps on the XB9R/S gave it a lot of character, this just tries to return it to the mainstream to me. Buells by design are different, why return them to what every one else has done before? No offence

. . "by design are different" kind of loses its zing if all the Buells look the same doesn't it?

If the guy just drove up to the local hang out with his newly finished ride, are you going to say to his face, (his beaming-with-pride face no doubt) "The single header is way out of place." ?

Exupmonkey, whats up with that man. How'd you like it if someones said that to you? To ride a bone stock bike is just like any other boner out there with no imagination. Lets see some pics of your bike, just curious.

The traditional headlamp does not suit the XB.

Thanks for all the great comments!!!!..(Most of you).
For everyone else who don't like it, thats absolutely fine.
I did'nt build it for you! I built it for me and me only.
The whole reason for putting the single light on it was because I wanted something old school mixed with the new school. A challenge, and to see if I could pull it off.
Not to mention that the stock headlights reminded me of those scooters that all the DUI people drive to work everyday.
To everyone who likes it thanks, and to everyone who don't, I don't care!
Id like to give a special thanks to Yeags30 and Indianabueller without them it would not have happend.
Thanks Guys,
Jesse

I'm not a big fan of the huge single headlight but you have made it look good with your artistic vision. I have to admit that seat really makes the bike look hot. The stock Xbsx banana seat makes the bike look kinda slow. Honestly if you had the stock seat it wouldn't look as appealing. That headlight has to make lighting the road pretty bright which would be nice seeing that the stock lights suck in IMHO.

If I had money I would pay you to make a clone of your bike cause me likey! Now ride biotch! I want to see action shots.

I like it alot. Don't care what a few people say. Its your toy and they dont have to play with it.If you painted pink with purple pokie dots and every body in world hated it, but you loved it.That is all that matters!!Buells were ment to be diffrent.Agene good job.

XB + chrome + classic headlight? That's cafe racer cool! Reminds me of:

"We intend to concentrate all our endevours on producing one superb model, the world's finest sporting machine, built exclusively for the experienced rider who travels far and fast for the sheer fun of the ride-"

"The aim in the new model is to provide a big-twin 'thousand' which has outstanding speed and acceleration and first-class road
manners coupled with the weight, the wheelbase and the ease of handling of a super five-hundred."

Seem familiar?

I like it a lot Jesse. Your paint job compliments the old school naked front end very well. Very cool that you left the front end totally naked! : )

The orientation of your clip-ons though would appear to cause most anyone significant pain. Not because they are low, but due to their non-ergonomically efficient orientation. How do you manage a comfortable ride with their forward biased angle like that? That would murder my wrists.

i was wondering basically the same thing blake, but i kind of just thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me and making me think they seemed angled forward.

Your bike's right up there with Hillbilly-Motors's "Hellbender" in the cool custom XB category, Jesse. That front end looks great with the headlight! Instantly reminded me of the Vincent cafe racer pic I posted above.

What type of headlight bucket did you use?

How did you mount the XB instruments? or aftermarket speedo solution?

Any comments about how the chroming process turned out? Man, I'd love to see that airbox cover in person.

Great bike! I'm inspired.
