This is for you gents that have heard the the Buell race pipe and the Drummer pipe. From what I have read the Drummer makes better power the the Buell race pipe, but what about the sound. If the Drummer is a little louder, thats what I'm getting. The race ecm will work with the Drummer. So then I'm set. I've heard the sound bite on the Drummer web site, but I don't think it does it justice. What do you think.

The race pipe sounds good but the drummer sounds much better.I heard race pipe and drummer side by side and bought a drummer.

Drummer. I heard someone take mine for a ride the other day, and you could still hear a low rumble at least a quarter mile away. It truly does have a great sound.

I have had both, currently using the original Drummer on my Nine with Race ECM, K+N, open airbox from a 12.

I agree that it has a nicer, lower sound, perhaps a little bit louder.

I asked my riding buddies if they noticed any difference.
They did not. ( Don't you just hate that:-).

To me, the increase in torque down below 4000 rpm is the main advantage, and I 'm real happy with the Drummer.

Jon,

Your friends need a doctor or they were just playing with your mind man. Sound difference is very noticable both at idle and at speed. Hands down Drummer over Race Kit.

Big,

Your right. Website clip doesnt do it justice at all. It's a no lose situation if you buy it and don't like it, someone here will buy it in a second.

I would have to agree with the drummer. I currently have over 14K on mine ( 12 ) and I ( and my friends) have noticed it getting much louder. This my be a problem, or not.

Another vote for the Drummer. Sounds nice an deep and loud but not obnoxious. Looks very good to and fits perfectly.

Currently have the Drummer , switched from the race can. The race can sounded beautiful from 5500 rpm to rev limiter .Drummer makes noticably more power 5000 rpm and below and sounds like it, meaning a better sound. Go Drummer !!!!

Curt - A Drummer doesn't sound ANYTHING like a straight pipe. Straight pipes are just nasty sounding and destroy bottom end response as well

If you want a sound that's "like" a straight pipe but better, use a Force pipe. Like Jersey said though, it pretty well murders the low end.

The Drummer is certainly louder than the race can, but it's not really TOO loud like the Force pipe. It has a great rumble that's nice and deep.
