That 03 belt is nothing compared to the 06 belt as far as rugged. I'd be fearful of a rock getting lodged between the belt and the pulley, though it's all a gamble at that point. The original guard was a bit of a pain to disassemble, I can see why they changed to the simple set up for 04/05. I had to remove the swing arm brace to make the swap. My repair manual is on the way... does any one know if there is a torque spec for that? Also, for those of you with 03's that have ditched the guard all together, did you cut the rubber flap that is right behind the rear master cyl? thanks again for the help and thanks to Jessea for the guards. -Jeff
