I'm looking to upgrade to a new foot control set up and have seen several good looking rear-sets . does anyone have them and how are they? i have an xb9sx and most of the sets that i have found are listed for the R models . the mount points are the same aren't they? is the riding position that much different that it will prevent me from using them on my city-x? |

frame mounts are the same. the pegs will be a lot higher than the standard city-X pegs. An 1 1/2 to 2 inches doesn't sound like much, but it feels huge in your ergonomics. I highly recommend adjustable rearsets. |

There are several that I've been looking at . the set that I'm leaning towards is the woodcraft set . I think its at americansportbike.com. |

If you look at my profile you will see that I have a pair of Black Sato's on my R. I love the look of em and they have an amazing amount of adjustability. |

Depending on your actual needs, the standard position of the XB9/12R is perfectly fine for racing - see if you can try the position on a friend's bike or a showroom. That will give you the cheapest way to get more ground clearance. In 3 years of racing, I've never felt like I needed more ground clearance than I get with the stock position of the XB9R. Of course, they don't add anything to the looks of the bike. Jim Chaconas (pits with all of us at Willow Springs) - has the Sato rearsets on his racebike and there's no argument, they're EXCELLENT quality and look great. |

Woodcrafts ar the best bang for buck. Had some on my SV650, extremely well crafted and high quality. http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=17455 |

I got the Free Spirits from Matt at Trojan. The quality is great, and the GP shifting is way cool. It changes gears much easier. Also, the pegs are adjustable...I think can go to stock, or very near stock. It's all billet AL, includes the levers for both sides, and the joints are sealed bearings.

James Banke is working on some for our race bike. We have used Satos, but like Jame's shifter and brake pedals better. The ones he is doing for us have fixed dimensions we took from the Satos and will cost a great deal less. I also have one of his shift levers on my "ULY" Contact Al at American Sport Bike if interested in either part and he can get a hold of James. ... Terry |
