i'm telling you it was a pain in the butt. took forever to shape the plastics around them, get the mounts right, and it still isn't near as perfect as i want but i was running low on time if i wanted to make it to daytona last year. you might not like the location i have them in. some of my shorter friends have said that it pushes there legs out away from the bike. on me though they sit right under my thighs and my knees bend right around the end of them most of the time.

here ya go....

I am also looking for ideas of a twin bottle set up for under the rear seat. i need to make some brackets. just need an idea or two. anyone have bottles mounted in this fashion?

the problem with mounting them under the tail is the angles that the bottles will be at. depending on the style, brand of bottle they have to keep the nitrous at the valve end when accelerating. as in they need to face rearward and down so it is forcing the nitrous to the valve when you actually need it there. and just remember that more than likely your frontend will be looking skyward when you are using it so it could starve out then also.

my subframe is modified so i could actually hide the bottles in the rear plastics of the tail. BARELY. but after all that work i opted to have them exposed. i mean really how many times do i care if i get the sneak attack approach on someone and it sure starts more conversations this way, lol.

then there is also the problem of where are you going to put the fogger. the options arent real great in the tight space

you can also put a bottle in the intake hole through the frame if you wanted to update to the new airbox and cover so the air had a different path to flow.

wow, that idea about the frame hole is great. I have a NX pirranah wet kit from an old gixxer project in my garage. Hmmmm You're right, there is plenty of space there for a stealthy mount.
could be a whole lot of fun. a bracket to aim the fogger straight down into the bell would work just like the "economy" kits for carbed cars.
If you wanted to get fancy pulling the intake manifold and tapping them in there would work.

No_rice, do you have a source for the high pressure nylon tubing (something like 5/32 or something odd) that NX uses, or used to use for the nos and fuel? I need either: around 10-12ft of that, or I need to get braided lines made up to make this happen. I used to have some in black and some clear. It's missing in action though.

actually all i did was go to the local race parts store (lot of guys around here race stock cars and modifieds) and get some hydraulic clutch braided lines. they have them in all different lengths and its way cheaper than the ACTUAL n2o lines. grab the appropriate aeroquip fittings and your in business! if i remember right i think they were 4AN fittings(?)

depending on bottle size obviously, the intake mounting spot is perty nice. you can actually even get by wrapping padding around the bottle and shoving it down in there and your done. plus it keeps the valve aimed down farely well even if the front is up a ways atleast. man problem with that is turning the valve on and off, but if you hands are small enough you can get them far enough in the air scoop to pull it off. only reason i didnt go that route was because i wanted the duel bottles for some dumb reason, and i thought it would look way trick this way lol. only one like it that i know ofand i just had to make it difficult

The swept back filter position has negative influence on front cylinder filling.

All I can say is that the air takes an U-shaped way into the rear cylinder while it takes an S-shaped way into the front one. The remaining part of the explanation is covered by flow bench science and shop secrets :-)

Best regards

Filling that would mean you'd have to take the box off every time. Sometimes I want to just ride my bike not wrench every week.

dont fill the bottle that ride then, plus it only takes 2 minutes to pull the whole thing apart anyway.

trojan, does the cover even fit on that thing? it has to be REALLY close if it does.

i also figured out that i had room for the bottles in the stock air box, but it takes up almost all the space in there. not quit as bad as that one though lol

Two carved into the undertail would look cool and easy to access.

Hi Tim,

What type Nos system is that, did you have to recalibrate your ECM, & how are you mounting your filter back? Besides cutting your plastics for mounting the bottles, it looks like installation is pretty straight forward.

While riding when would you normally hit boost? Controllability issues? And how did it compare to without NOS?

I've been curious as hell for awhile now and the pics finally killed my restraint

its a nitrous by TIM system, lol. mix and match of good parts. nos fogger, nos solinoids, edelbrock bottles because they were longer n skinnier then the nos ones, and they were cheaper. braided hydraulic clutch lines for the plumbing. aeroquip fittings.

as far as putting them sunk in the plastics i dont know if id recomend it or not. its really personal preference, but most people dont like the way it feels on there legs and say it makes the bike seem wider. also realize that the right hand side bottle is a near hair width away from the top of the cylinder. it gets VERY warm sometimes. great for raising bottle pressure, but not for the well being of your leg! i simply thought they looked awesome there and knew there would be no other one like it

stock ecm. gutted stock exhaust. i am sure that it is running almost as lean as possiable at the moment with the airways opend up so much. i need to upgrade to the race ecm simply because of the other things i have done. realize though that you will also need to run extra fuel lines to compensate for the nitrous you are spraying in.

look in the intake hole. see the fine mesh screen in there. it originally ran just how it looks in the pics in my last post, except obviously the covers were on. about 8000 miles that way with no measurable compression loss or more oil consumption.

i did rig it up for a filter though after a while just because i had to start riding on gravel for a mile or two for a few months. butcherd a stock used extra filter i had laying around. so that thing has alot of miles on it. the hole i had to make in it seals realistically fairly well since the fogger is so close to it.

comparison? hmm... take a greyhound and compare it to a rabid cheetah, lol. it's in a hurry to go somewhere and usually that means straight up if you arent ahead of the game. it can very quickly and easily become very retarded. i mean think about it. depending on shot size you are effectively almost doubling the bikes horse power instantly. i really would not recommend much more than maybe a 20 horse shot if you really MUST juice it. we figure(never dynoed yet) that i have a good 50 shot at the moment but i cant read the numbers on the jets and cant find the damn notes i had when we were setting it up. guess i'm going to have to make some calls on that.

it is mostly useless in the first three gears and since you really do not want to use it untill atleast a good 4500rpm i am carrying the front tire by then anyway, lol. if i plan on using it sooner in the gears i am sprawled out over the front fairing.

then you really need to think about belt life. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!!! my bike is in pieces because my belt stripped a chunk of teeth off and then caught and flipped over. i wasn't on the button but i am sure it had been weaknd more than normal because of it.

u realize the majority of things that get nitoused are stock or close to stock right? thats why people do it. most bang for the buck.

we ran 100 horse shot to a bone stock vrod right when they came out. beat the thing to death and ran more bottles through it than i care to remember. it would leave the line on the juice, which is not the best way to save your motor. it had a almost 40,000 problem free miles on it when it got stolen.
