Hello I am 6'4 with long legs and arms. I was at a dealer yesterday to try the XB12Ss on for size. Felt very nice. I also tried the XB12S and the XB12R. I liked the low bars of the 12R the best, and am thinking that is the bike for me. My question is does anyone here who is tall like me ride an XB, and if so, is the fit ok? I am trying to find a dealer near me (Sacramento, California area) who has a demo model I can ride to get a better idea. Thanks for any input. Scott in Auburn, California | ||

from my floatings around here sounds like the R with the S pegs would be a good fit ... just my 2cents | ||

Me too...I'm 6'4" and ride an "R" with "S" pegs. Works great! You will get giggled at though. Something about a monkey, and a football? | ||

Hey, I'm not 6'5" but when I put the "s" pegs on my bolt it put more weight on my arms! I know sound silly but its true,I'm about 6'. I guess my legs hold me up more than I thought. Just something to consider,the pegs don't cost a fortune,($26) so its not the end of the world. I'm going to try mine again when my heli-bars get here. | ||

Or you could go the Ss route, and swap out the bars for some Renthal Ultra-lows, or switch to clipons to get that sporty lean. The Ss will have more seat room. FWIW, my .02 TK | ||

I used to ride around a 1970 BSA 441 single with a tiny aluminum gas tank. That was Monkey Coconut stuff! Actually I'm thinking the higher pegs of the R will drop my knees a bit. Even getting giggled at it's worth it, as Tq says. There's not another bike I'd ride, except a tubular Buell. | ||

If I went with the Ss, I'd have to eliminate the license plate extension. So please excuse my ignorance of product knowledge, but who makes a clean kit to get rid of that 'fender'? | ||

6'1", 240 lbs. Ah, the Unibear moniker does have something to do with what I look like riding my XB12R. But I promised Blake not to repeat the story on the board.  S pegs are the ticket, so is the Buell Custom Seat. Seat adds about another 1/2 inch to the seat to ground and seat to peg distance. Did a four day 1500 mile ride with that combo a wile back and was quite comfy. | ||

I've got the 9R with X1 pegs. The previous owner got em and they work well for me at 6'2". The bike looks small compared to me but it does very well and feels good. | ||

Sejose -- Dewalt makes a do it your self kit for the fender, just get a dewalt sawzall and hack at it  im still in the process in finishing mine. but if you check out American sport bike they have some kits that are in fiberglass or carbon fiber. there are also some companys that you send them yours as a core and they send you a finished one back | ||

I just did two 250 mile rides on my completely stock xb12r. I'm 6'3" 190ish lbs. The ride was great. I wore my biking shorts and that helped with the butt soreness, and I move around a lot in the saddle to help with being stiff. Anyway, the ride was great!! | ||

6'1' and shrinking. I have xb9r with "s" foot pegs and Heli bars. Works great for me All sportbikes seem to be getting smaller. Sat on any of the 600 lately, or for that matter even the liter bikes? It is not just a Buell issue. So get want you want | ||

The S pegs drop about 1" down from the mounting point as compaired to the stock R pegs extending straight out from it. | ||

I'm only 6', but I ride the 9S Low model for trips of 300+ miles. So I would think that a regular would be fine, if not the long. | ||

I only have a week and a half and a 1000 klicks on my 04 9S, but I love it. Quite comfortable even though I am 6'5" and 270. So I hear ya about the bear humping the moped thing. However... the grin factor far outweighs what other idiots think! | ||
