Just thought I'd let you all know that I dropped my bike off at my dealer today to get the 50k service done. The bike actually has 49,800 miles on it but with Dennis' remains due to show up in Ohio tomorrow I figured it would be a good time to get it in the shop. The service tech who signed me in was happily surprised to see a bike with that many miles and I quote "...let alone a Buell."

Its an 03 'bolt and as far as I know the motor has never been rebuilt. I purchased the bike used from Centennial Park in March with around 43.6k miles on it. I've put the rest on since then. They assured me that the bike was in perfect running order since the previous owner was a 70 y/o man who had it serviced at the dealership religiously. I asked the dealership to provide me with the complete service history but they said they'd need to ask the previous owner since the work orders contain some personal information. Anyway, he traded it in on a Street Rod. He left the adapter for the electric suits attached so its safe to assume he rode year round.

The bike runs and sounds great. Starts on the first attempt every time and has been basically trouble free except for the belt snapping on the 2nd day of ownership. The dealership took care of that for me though. I'm hopelessly addicted to this bike. It so much more fun than my old Yamaha.

I know the man that had it prior to you, That engine was not rebuilt, he took great care of it and did not abuse it.

I currently have 46202 miles on my 03 XB9R. I'm currently stuck in Okinawa, Japan. I'll be back in Feb 06 and should have approx 100k by Feb 07.

My engine blew at 30k, so my miles are not on the original engine, but I did ride all of them.

Glad to hear the mileage update, I was wondering if you where going to keep the miles going steady on that bad boy.

Not a lot of miles like the rest of you guys, but when my insurance company wanted me to estimate my annual miles I said 3,000 per year. After 1 1/2 months I have 1,800 miles on it.

Woops.

When my engine blew @ 30344 miles I had owned my XB for 1 year 1 week. Out of the 2 + years now that I've owned it, I've only actually rode it approximately 1 and 1/2 years. Had another bike when I first bought the XB that I was commuting on. Broke the Ninja then went crazy with the XB.

Will I just back from a 5000 mile ride on my xb12s. Motor sounds like trash do to loose cams. Runs great with ear plugs. I put the street rod down 5 weeks a go. To much front brake. Got a collar bone. Looks like I well be riding the Buell for a few more weeks. 40250 Miles.

Natexlh1000,

The piston rod broke in half and came disconnected from lower end.

Just to update this I got my bike back the other day and everything is ship shape. I'm missing two bolts on the chin fairing one front black and one chrome. Also I'll need to replace my front brake pads soon.

Charlie, J,

Whats up my Brotha's. No taco rice yet. I have eat'n at Dragons though. Lot of food, and cheap. I started snorkeling yesterday, that is freak'n awesome here. Seen so much cool stuff underwater. I should start diving around September. Would be sooner, but I'll be going away for about a month or so. Your right about the fins Charlie, the split ones work great. I'm just renting the fins for now. I'll buy some later. Plan on some trips to Cali for diving after we're both Retired or sooner. You all take care, can't wait for SpringFast.
