I thought of the expression "If I had to explain it to you, You wouldnt understand." Thats the truth about the first time I rode my XB9R. How many of ya's took a test ride on a XB which resulted in a purchase of an XB??? |

I rode an XB12S and bought a XB12Scg... Even if Buells didn't offer demo rides, I was going to buy a XB12Scg anyways... The test ride didn't result in my purchase, it just made my trip to the dealership more fun!!! |

Well, I wanted one before the test ride. The test ride just confirmed my want and made me want it even more. My parents said the smile on my face was from ear to ear when I got off it. |

I was in the market for a new bike to replace my Magna. Test rode the Blast, then the XB9SL. Rode home on the XB an hour later. |

I had always been curious of the XB's, but having ridden Jap bikes for several years prior, never though much about purchasing one. That is, until I walked in to take a look at one in person. I spent about two hours jawing with the salesman before taking it out for a test ride and that was it. I was sold as soon as I returned. Total impulse buy with absolutely NO regrets after 3 years!!!! |

I bought my first Buell without ever having ridden one. That first ride was quite the revalation. |

That's how they got me! I pulled in on a 2001 YZF 600R, and left on an 04 XB12R about 1 year ago. The first time I cranked the throttle and the front wheel went straight up I was hooked! I was looking for a much different ride and bike than my Yamaha and I certainly found it! |

I can *sorta* claim that a test ride was the reason I bought an XB. I was riding a '99 M2 when the XBs were released. I originally thought they looked like really nice bikes, but I liked my big and comfy M2. Then I had the chance to put ~500 break in miles on an XB9R for the dealer. It was during that 500 mile "test ride" that I decided that the XB was comfortable enough to use as a daily scoot and the improvements in handling would be well worth the trade off in ergonomics. Now I'm the proud owner of an XB12R. |

I test rode an XB9SX - loved it and became an owner as quickly as I could - the only obstacle was the HD dealer's unwillingness to deal. |

No test ride. Took my M1 in and said "trade and same payments", 2 hours later left with the XB12r. My test ride was on the way home. It's my preferred ride over the VUE and Mustang. |

I couldn't find an Aprillia dealer that had a Tuono to even look at. When I found Suzuki dealers that had SV1000's in stock, they had a "no test ride" policy. I found a few Honda dealers that had Superhawk leftovers that were tempting. They get about 100 miles to the tank, if you take it easy. I stopped by a Buell dealer to tell them how much I didn't like their bikes, and 15 minutes later I had a bike under my butt and a full tank of gas. Four hours later I brought their bike back and bought one of my own. |

Wanted a Buell since they were introduced. Went to dinner one evening and stopped by the local dealer and looked and sat. Came back the next day and took one home. NO TEST RIDE! I knew what I wanted. |

I was able to rent an XB9SX at Schaeffer's HD/Buell for a weekend on September 4, 2004. Within 5 miles of riding, I told my father, who I was riding with at the time, that I would be buying one. December 4, 2004 was the magical day. I love it. |

Living on Long Island, where we do not really have any Buell dealers, I could not get a test ride:-(. I bought a Blast, because the last bike I had, about a hundred years ago, was a 500 cc single, an English Velocette Venom Thruxton. I thought I would pick as a re-entry vehicle, something that was vaguely reminiscent of what I last rode, and because, as an architect, I was taken by its industrial design quality. Curiously, back in the day, the Thruxton was the epitome of sporting bikes, today the Blast is considered a bit of a girlie bike, even though it is slightly faster than the Velo:-) Anyway, I was delighted to discover I could still feel comfortable on a motorbike. I was about to "race kit" the Blast, when I found out that the dealer that I bought the Blast from, was getting out of the Buell business. He made me an offer I couldn't resist on a 2003 XB9S. Still wouldn't let me test ride it! After I bought it, I didn't like it very much on my first ride at all!! I was so hot to trot, that I didn't bother to check anything on the bike: it had been delivered with a virtually empty oil tank, no gas, about 10lb.s of air in the tires, and the suspension settings could best be described as " nutty". 7000 miles later I find I am enjoying the bike more with every passing mile:-) |

No test ride......it was December 30th in N.E. Ohio (a very good time to make a deal on a motorcycle, BTW). I did have the dealer bring it into its shop and start the XB9SX up......I did have to ensure it would not be so loud as to chase away my BMW riding buddies. So far, my Beemer is getting very jealous....it now only gets ridden for overnight (or longer) trips and in really bad weather. |

No test ride...just sat on them at dealers (who pretty much ignored me) and marveled at the engineering for a few months. Found a great deal on a factory demo on the internet at Libertyville HD/Buell in IL. Left a deposit on the phone (those demo bikes sold out fast) and made the road trip the next weekend. I was so tickled with the engineering and look of the bike it would have had to do something drastic to make me dislike it. No regrets. Not the fasted bike I've owned, but my favorite so far. Not once have I ridden it that it hasn't put a smile on my face. |

Test Rode and XB9R at the Honda Hoot in 2003. Wanted to get back to sport riding after a few years with only a cruiser.. Got the bug, but still wasn't sure that was the bike.. Couldn't get a ride on anything else that even remotely appealed to me.. So I went to a dealer and before I knew what was happening.. They had me on one. This one was set up better and handled like a dream. I rode it again a few weeks later.. because I wanted to make sure.. Then about a month later, I rode another one (couldn't decide if I wanted an S or an R) .. Finally, after chatting with the dealer about it.. They gave me a GREAT deal without all that 'gotta check with the boss' crap and I gave them a check that day. Two weeks later, due to they not having my color (Blue) or some of the parts I wanted (got rid of the orange stickers and put on black ones etc.) I got to take my baby home.. Of course it was cold and wet that day... perfect for your first substantial ride huh? It's been a love, love thing ever since.. |

No test ride either, got the XB9SX in May. However I have been wanting an XB9 since they first came out. I couldn't locate an 05 in the greater Los Angeles area and went all the way over to Moorpark HD. Not only did they have two in stock the sales guys were very cool and spent a lot of time talking about the bike and answering my questions. |

I rode several XB's during a (damn cold!) demo day at a Harley dealership four hours away, back in 2003. I knew I wanted one then, but I couldn't justify the expense ($15,500 CDN when they were first introduced!). So, I rode my Japanese UJM a couple more years. At a different dealer (six hour drive), I located an 03 XB9R; due to the price lowering Buell has been doing (an 05 XB lists for $11,600 CDN), the 03 was finally affordable for me. I bought it this spring--but I gotta say, if I hadn't previously decided I wanted one at the demo two years ago, I wouldn't have bought one at that dealership, and maybe not at all--I did NOT have a good purchase experience, and there's no way I want those goons touching my bike now I have it. So yeah, the demo ride was a very important part of my buying decision, and I decided to buy a Buell despite the dealer's attitude! |

I had a VRod for 2 years. I just couldn't get used to the forward controls. Sold it and bought a CityX, no test ride. Everytime I went to a dealer with a Buell, I would sit on it and feel comfortable. Then it finally hit me. My first bike was a Blast, I was born a sport biker. |
