What size tire is optimum? I guess I am going to bite the bullet and replace both front and rear on a 12s. I cant believe I only got 2K on my stock Dunlops | ||

120/70-17 180/55-17 That's stock. I'd STRONGLY recommend against a 190/50 on the rear but it "should" fit. I've considered a 170, but with the nimbleness of the XB as it is... I don't really see much need for MORE  . I'd maybe try a 180/60 if anyone makes one... I think that would give you a 4.5mm increase in the height of the rear axle. I'd then probably crank up the front preload 1/2 a line and maybe add a little compression damping or reduce a little rebound damping on the front... Probably the reduction of rebound... I'd probably kill myself doing that though, so I don't recommend you do it  . | ||

I tried a 190 slick on my nephews bike. No good at all. Speed wobble even after we lowered the forks as far as we could in the triple clamps. 170 might work, but members who have tried it report no improvement. Not surprisingly, the bike being designed by the Buell Team for good handling first and foremost, the stock tires sizes are just right, and the Pilot Powers are an excellent tire that works superbly on the Buell using the stock or aggressive settings. The will also last about twice as long as the original DunIops. I got 4200 miles out of my first rear, including one track day, and there was a couple of hundred miles left. Congrats on your tyre choice - go with the std sizes. A new Pilot Power rear has a more pointed profile than the stock Dunlop and while there's no danger of it rubbing, it sure fills the available space. Fantastic tyres, you'll love them. | ||

Agreed, you'll love the Power tires and I can gurantee that you'll get more than 2k on them. | ||
