My little nephew pushed my 03 xb9s over in the garage and put a dent and some scratches right on the leading edge of the frame. Is there any way to pull the dent out without having to drain the gas? Is this going to cost me? And what about the scratches? They are not just surface scratches, I tried to buff them out. Thanks for all the help!

Do you have the pucks? If the dent is at a place that the pucks would cover, I'd fix it with body putty or JB Weld, finish and paint, then cover with the pucks. Otherwise I'd go carbon fiber frame covers.

Good luck,
Bill

UHHHH maybe cover with the Buell frame pucks? about 35 or 40 pairs should cover the kid up and prevent future problems.

I used a car body filler that's called chemical metal I don't know if you have a similar product in the US ?

Sets rock hard but can be sanded, doesn't shrink over time or with heat. The I used etch-primer and brought a can of XB frame silver from my local Buell dealership.

The picture below shows the damage after a 40-50mph motorway spill, the coin is for reference to show the size of the dent. All this was in the days before frame pucks.............

Frame dent XB9

Here's the finished artical, not the best of images, but even in the realworld the colour match was very good for a spray-can.

The child must be sacrificed!!!

just kiding. I would just cover it if you can with a puck or carbon fiber piece. You are not going to loose that much tank capacity.
