It happened again last night, On wednesday nights there is a bike night at the local Nathans on RT 231 in Deer Park, LI. Lonexb and myself were standing there and a guy walks up and says "This is for Harleys only" I really liked the expression on this guys face when he was schooled that the Buell is based on a Harley engine and sold at Harley/Buell dealers. I kinda like that people have no idea whats really going on!!!

How much do you want to bet there were a few custom choppers parked there like Titans or Big Dogs. Did you tell Mr Dumass that those bikes are not Harleys!!

a guy walks up and says "This is for Harleys only"

Did you ask him what law school he attended?

I hate that kind of attitude. Sure, it's nice to get together and talk shop with guys who have the same kind of bike (kinda what we're doing here on BadWeb) but to make it exclusive just sticks in my craw...

Sounds like a real motorcycle guy.

I know that there are plenty of HD owners that are knowledgeable about motorcycles, but HD seems to attract more brand and image people than any other make, that are clueless about the machines and just take short rides to the local leather and chrome hangout. Those are the same 35-60 year olds that have pushed the accident statistics for the last 10 years or so. Their first bike weights 700 friggen pounds and doesn't handle or stop, and they never learned a damn thing about riding before buying the beast.

What was funny I dont think the guy even had a bike....After he had the "Dumb" look he went over and was talking to a guy on a R6, maybe he would have better luck over there... There are alot of sweet bikes that showed up. Next week Im going to bring my "Handbuilt not Bought" hardtail chopper up there.

Last summer I was asked by a Harley rider with a brand new Road King. " Who makes that little piece of $#!+ " I replied this was the littlest Harley and it was called a Buell Blast. He laughed and drove off after making lots of throttle reving noise. An other guy with an older Harley who observed all this said " He don't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground. It aint my thing but it's a cool little thing." He went on to ask about it and looked it over.

Yep. They show up from time to time in various states of mileage and history.

I think the funny part about buying a vest with all the patches and pins on it is not knowing what they all represent.

Quite simply, the new owner could find themselves in Deep Yogurt if one of the MC patches was recognized by someone from a rival MC. LMAO

I always love the people that have the "Harley only" attitude that don't even own a bike of any kind.
Just as bad are all the little OCC or Westcoast Choppers dweebs out there with their stocking caps pulled down so they can't see but don't own an OCC or WC bike, if they have a bike at all.

Sadly its not just HD owners or even HD wannabes that tend to have this crappy attitude, it also exists among Goldwing owners, Dirtbikers, BMW'ers & yes even Buellers.

My 9 yo daughter told her friend that I had a Harley. Her friend (all of 10 years old) gets all snooty and says something to the effect that it isn't a Harley because it doesn't say Harley on it.

Now, I don't generally call my Buell a Harley. But I don't like people trying to make my daughter feel bad either. So it was with great enjoyment that I showed her the speedometer on my Blast. In about 6 point font, down at the bottom it says "A Harley-Davidson company."

The dude would have probably had a heart attack if he'd seen a bicycle parked in a "Harley only" spot.

Funny...a few years back at a bike night on my sportster, some shirtless drunkazz in shorts & flip-flops (who stumbled from the tailgate of his pickup spilling his beer all over himself)informed me that the "jap bikes are over there"...I said "excuse me?" all pissed-off, at that point he looked at my tank & apologized...

"Those that ride know, those that pose don't."...I like that, sounds like a good decal for the little blastard

The attitude of these 'Harley guys' is beginning to me off, as has been said a lot of them have no history or knowledge of the motor company, I will not say the 'brand', because I believe a lot of this comes from 'brand' marketing .

I felt bogus wearing an HD t-shirt until I bought a Harley and as for the Harley guy slammin the Blast, I would have said just right back to him ..the same people who make yours!

I had a biker chick tell me I couldn't wear a Harley shirt on a Jap bike when she saw me in a parking lot getting on my Buell. When I told her Harley sells these bikes now, she said, "Wow, a Harley Ninja".

Even among biker chicks, this one was clearly not the sharpest crayon in the box.

I get Harley riders giving me dirty looks when I roll up at the dealership wearing my HD leather jacket.

The bulk of them ..know nothing !

...and don't get me started on people who diss AMF Harleys !

The Jesse James wannabes are the worst.

Followed by the elitist Harley guys.

I still don't have a concise answer for the question "What is that thing?" when I'm riding my XB9.

Ah, ignore the haters.

Wow, I don't really get any of the negative comments from HD guys. The worst comment I think I've ever gotten, was when I was at Wisconsin Harley in Oconomowoc, a guy in a softail was dismounting saying, " I could never ride one of them". I overheard him, and told him, "try it". He jumped on my S3T, and commented "This isn't as bad as it looks".

What percent of the people at Daytona do you think know that there is race?

What percent do you think know that Harley guys started going every year because they liked the bike racing, not the fashion show?
