I'll be moving to the Palm Beach area of Florida this summer and I'm hoping that Moroso Motorsports Park is NOT the only twisty roads to ride in South Florida. I can't seem to find any. Help!! Florida members please respond.

I'm in the Brevard area. We kinda lack roads that are twisty here. We do have some sweepers. More towards the Orlando area to Ocala area do you get into the curvy stuff.

Hey Dave, look me up when you get down here. I'm in Delray. Honestly, there's not much in the way of twisties, but plenty of on/off ramps and the odd road with a few curves linked up here and there. There's also Snake Road, but that's just big 120mph+ sweepers.....not really my cup-o-tea. There are also a few other Buellers down here, but I have yet to hook up with them (I'm a new Buell owner myself). My riding buddy has an Aprilia Falco so the sound with another Buell would be absolutely hellacious!! Like I said, look me up and I'll show you what we got.......

Deal's Gap, 318 turns in 11 miles. South Florida, 11 turns in 318 miles.

Truk...LMAO, but true!!! I am north of Tampa, but have been throughout most of Florida on my Springer and my Buell.... I don't know of many twisties south, there are a few like Cataract2 said in the Orlando to Ocala area... Maybe we can hook up in that area and go for a ride.

Hi,

This is my 1st post here. In fact I just registered. I have been reading messages for a while though. Great civilized forum; I got some good info from it. Thanks.

There are no twisty roads in the Palm Beach area but there are good roads to ride on. Granted, most roads in the area are more for cruisers than for Café-Racers.

Ride from Palm Beach to Indiantown via the Beeline. From there you can proceed north to Okeechobee. From Okeechobee, you can continue north towards Tampa, or decide to go around the lake. Or going back to Indiantown, you may decide to ride south to Pahokee, or Belle Glade. This is old Florida. It is beautiful, though some may think that it is run-down. There are old trees, old two story houses, etc. There are some hang-outs along the way.

Most curves are wide, but there are curves, and most roads are two-lane roads. I still enjoy the area. Of course, coming back via SR80, you’ll cross the cane fields. That’s like Kansas, but it is good place to push the bike. I look for a dump truck in the distance (any large profile vehicle that will hide me will do) , and I twist the throttle as far as it goes.

I ride the Buell on Sunday mornings only. There are lots of nutcases in South Florida, so I try to limit the risks. But if you leave around 8:30 am, you get most of those roads to yourself.

Do what I do and find unfinished swanky neighborhoods, they usually have pretty twisty roads going all the way back. Just remember which turn is the last turn before you get to the end.

I live down here in West Palm Beach as well, and I cant seem to find any good twisties. But if you just want to go for a ride then take 80 (Southern Blvd) out to the lake. Its all flat farmland and there are also some side roads that run along the canals.

What we lack in twisties we make up for with A1A. I can ride up the beach for hours.

Can't find any twisties in South Florida? Look no further. Go to Fuddruckers at the corner of US1 and Sunrise Blvd.in Ft.Lauderdale on Friday night. Any pimply faced squid can point you in the direction of "9 TURNS". It's got all the technical stuff most can't handle, it is one of the wee hours attractions for those of large balls or those of little mental capacity.
Go ahead, try it, you'll like it, at least once. (spare undies optional)

Hey, It just so happens that I will be in the Tampa area next week. My brother and I are taking are bikes to ride around. He has a HD Softail so don't give him a hard time. I was wandering what kind of bike nights there might be or cruise ins next week. I will get all of the twisties I can handle the next week. It will be the first track day of the season for me when I get back to cold and wet Indiana. Well drop me a line and I will get in touch with you when I get down to Florida. I plan on going to the Demo day at St Petes on Wed. Other than that I am up for some twisties. I won't be able to reply until Sat. We will be on the road all day Friday. Hope to hear from some of you Florida Buellers soon. Brupska

Well, Brupska, if you happen to make it to the east coast (Brevard) there is a Hooters Bike Night in Melbourne. Orlando has there's every thursday at the Steak and Shake and Hooters on 436 north of Hwy. 50.

You Fl guys need to plan ahead and ride with the Lakeland BRAG. We ride the first Sat. of each month, meet at Lakeland HD/Buell at 8:30. Rides are both south and north of Lakeland and the usual leader (Richard) really has a handle on where the best riding is located. We have guys from Jax and Ft. Myers so it is not all locals. Plan ahead and join us sometime.

Do it guys, you won't regret it. I live in Orlando and if it would help anyone to attend they could stay at my place the Fri night before as Lakeland HD is only 50 miles away.

Hey guys! The countdown is on for us. We are buying a home in Deltona and I will be working at Sanford airport. I hope to get hooked up with some fellow Buellers when we get settled. That should happen by the first week of May if all goes well.
