After My initial valve adjustment requiring 2 trips to the dealer, I am considering buying a shim kit

have any of you done this and then later opened the engine and changed or inspected the shims?

I want to find out if any one has had difficulties with after market shims..

I have one, used it on the last valve check I did on mine. Worked fine, I kept the kit even though the 1125 is gone now.

If you get the KTM kit, you get more sizes.(greater size range) The Buell and KTM use the same size shim.

Yeah, I just bought the kit. Didn't want to screw around once I had things apart

Good kit for the money - especially if you do more than one valve adjustment.

Dean I presume that the valve shims are the same in the 1190

Be aware that the Hot Cam Kit is in .05mm increments, but the 1125R shims come in .025mm increments, so you might have difficulty getting the right shim. I have the kit and have had to fill the gaps at times.
The 1125R shims are the same as the V-Rod shims so they can be found at non-Buell dealers

Thanks for the heads up Rob
I was hoping to not have to make the trek to the dealer, I called HD and the local dealer said that they did not have a factory shim kit but had a loose assortment of shims

all of the stuff for the service is due next week,
