go, ask erik, he should have filed it.

and then tell him, he better should have made product-pics with the brake-rotor installed the right way as with the pics from rs. and with the demo yesterday, the rotors on all bikes mounted the right (wrong) way...just on the black one it was right.

quite embarrassing for "decades of dedication and innovation"

and now, you can kiss my...

Racing is not a good measure of either this bike or the RS. Sure they break them. The other manufacturers do too. No one says they are lousy when, say Hays uncorks one.

The real measure of whether this is a durable engine design is out here on the street where most of the RS's and the RX's will be. I know several RS owners now. All still up and running, no problems. No complaints.

I'm not sure where you're getting the 193 HP on the BMW or the fuel mileage. I get 27 mpgs and 177 at the rear on the dyno in race mode.. T BMW basically only has 4 traction mode and you pay extra for the traction control. Try and find a floor model without abs, tc, and heated grips. They all have those and you pay for that. You would have to special order a standard option free bike and I bet that would be extra. Mine was 18,000 out the door, so Yeh its a little cheaper, but its a totally different bike and BMW is already mass producing motorcycles. The EBR isn't mass produced yet so you are getting a custom bike more or less. Anyway I'm not here to argue about this. I like the BMW but I like what EBR is doing more and isn't this what we have all been waiting for? I'm pleased with what I'm seeing and I'm probably going to trade the bimmer in on one.

Anyone so desperate to find something to criticize that they are now are reduced to declaring the RX defective because three final manufacturing prototypes rolled out for a product release have differences, or because a motorcycle raced in anger for several seasons broke more than once, has certainly proven something...

LOL. Fanboys on a "Buell Enthusiasts Site"?!!?!? Say it ain't so!

I, for one, am ***deeply*** disturbed about allegations of studio shots for the website not matching later production line manufacturing prototypes shown at a product launch!

Oh wait, no I'm not.

I would be disappointed if it was anything else... I want those men and women working hard on my future AX, not shooting and re-shooting glamour shots to avoid possible incoherent and pedantic criticism from bitter people. We suffered through small people during the tuber days and XB days. We are kinda done with them. If you don't like the brand, go find a brand you do like, there are plenty of great ones. God bless, God speed, and get going already.

We have come a long way when this is the kind of thing people can find to bitch about. : )

(And if, as implied, being someone who respects a brand on a brand enthusiast site is pathetic, then what on earth does that say about someone who feels compelled to come to said site and argue with people without any kind of cogent criticism? At least the fanboys can make a coherent argument for their position.)

Yea they appear to be correct on the website, but one of the bikes at the expo has the rotor on backwards. It is possible it doesn't even mater, I never heard if it is directional or not.

This reminds me of a Hank Williams Senior story. Apparently his wife would tell him he was singing the songs wrong. He would reply, "I wrote the damn song, I know how it's supposed to sound".

I find it hard to believe that they would accidentally make a mistake like that if it mattered.

And since you don't often get a chance to quote country musicians on badweb, "if that aint country, I'll kiss your ass".

No if it is not directional. It might not even be the same rotor, some things were changed between the RS and RX, it is possible the brake rotor was one of them.

Dude, there are WAY more than enough Buell/EBR skeptics on the remaining ~2 million motorcycle related forums out there. Is it unreasonable to have one "gee, we really like Buells/EBRs" forum?

Tough crowd.

Issues with my RS have been cosmetic and very adequately dealt with. I've honestly had one other issue (oil leak) that was brought to my attention by EBR and they took care of it. I don't feel like a complete idiot at all, not that I care what other people think about what I buy and how much I pay. You are entitled to your opinions. I just don't care if they conflict with mine.

But this IS a Buell enthusiasts' site. Why are you here?

Figorvonbuellingham - I got that information from their website. Both HPs quoted are at the crank would be my guess. So when you put the Buell on the Dyno I'm sure the number will go down as well.

I'm not saying one is better then the other just correcting the facts.

Both I bet are great bikes, just saying is it worth the extra money. We won't know until we've ridden it or get more facts is all.

I sell cars for a living and I see this all the time. Some one may make a better car, in the end it usually comes down to pricing and budget.

For two bikes really close in specs is a 21 mode TC worth $4K. ( I know there are other differences just an example. )

I like my 1125R and as of now I like the RX just saying I need to see how everything will work out.

Hopefully they fix the hot frame issue. I know I can use heat shield to fix that I'm just waiting until my next valve check before I do.

I'm also hopeing that it will be a bit easier to work on though I doubt that as well.

Some of our best enemies are our friends CherryBomb, we will have *really* good discussions as a result.

What you will find is that weak arguments will be poked mercilessly. The part that will suprise you is that weak arguments *for* EBR will get poked just as mercilessly.

If you have worked in a high functioning engineering or IT architecture group you are familiar with this kind of fun back and forth and clear winners or losers. At the end of the day it almost doesn't matter who was on the right or wrong side at the start, everyone learned a ton though the process.

For tubers, I could give you a LONG list of valid criticisms. EBR could give you an even longer list. Then came the XB's, and a lot of eyes were opened... not because they had no faults, but because the "type of fault trajectory" between the tuber and XB lines was kind of a "holy $%i%" moment to see how far how fast the Buell folks could come under such constraints (mostly Harley imposed) in leaping from the tubers to the XB's.

Then the 1125, which was an insanely good machine with a few significant but very fixable faults, again produced in spite of (as opposed to because of) a parent company. With friends like Harley, who needs enemies?

Now, after pretty much being taken out back and having a bullet put in their skull by somebody pretending to be their best friend, look who walks in the front door looking better than ever??!?! With a smoking hot blonde on their arm. Both smiling.

I'm not going to complain that the blondes hair is a little tousled. In fact, I may even think it makes her look that much hotter. ; )

Forgive us if our jaws are dropped.

LOL. And to my point CherryBomb, in spite of your (kinda lame I think) argument, we now know that the 6mm rotor was probably directional, and the 5mm rotor probably isn't, which is actually kind of cool to know.

Stick around, its not so bad once you get used to it... : )

And the only reason the 6mm was "directional" is because the friction surface was thicker than the mounting tabs, and the tabs had a "wheel side" and a "facing out" side as a result.

I do recall pointing out that the RS needed TC to be competitive, and so many told me I was wrong.

It's just expected today, and will be interesting to see when EBR adds ABS, since that will be required in Europe shortly

I think I found my next bike.

I've been thinking of replacing my '08 R now. But I can't think of anything to replace it with because I love the thing. The closest was the 1199 Panigale. I think that bike is beautiful. But with the debut of the 1190RX, that's it! This is because I can only dream of owning the 1190RS at $40k. But the 1190RX I CAN afford. I like the looks (just like the RS), and the power plant and chassis are all familiar to me so I am reasonably assured I can service it myself. If the specs are all true or even close to being true, that's even better.

Haters will refer to me as a fanboy. Well then so be it. Because for me to plunk down almost $20k for a bike, I expect not only to like the bike's looks, but also its performance, but even more important, the EBR1190RX gives me the heritage and the heart and soul of a man that I aspire to be like. A man with a vision who never gives up and goes against all odds. Haters hate him and what he represents because there are just people out there who can't stand winners and always has the need to put them down. They put them down to make themselves feel better. They take pleasure in creating negative energy. I stay away from people like that. If you want to succeed, stick with people with positive attitude and can-do spirit. That's what Erik Buell represents and that is one big reason I like his bikes! That and I love sportbikes!

Oh! And yes. The 1125R was and still is a great bike to ride. I love its handling, its power, its character, and all the quirks that came with her. She's not perfect. If I wanted perfect I would have gotten a Honda VFR800. Oh wait....I have one of those! Haha! Haters can kiss my butt as I ride the SoCal canyons on my Erik Buell designed sportbike! LOL!

As for the canyons, the nearest worth a dang around here is Northwest Arkansas, and that's 5 hours of slab away. I have 6 different tracks, including an F1 track, within that kind of range.

Jdugger, knock it off with the track-only thing will yah (with respect of course). You know your stuff for sure but understand that we don't all live 5 hours away from the nearest great motorcycling road. I'm sorry you do. But there are a lot of us who live well within an hour away from wonderfully twisty and wide open roads that sportbikes were made for.

I'm glad you love the track. More power to you. But believe it or not, I love commuting, yes even in traffic, in my 1125R. The clip-on's don't bother me. I split in between cars here in Southern California while on my 1125R and it is wonderful! I love it. I look forward to my commute to work EVERY DAY. I have a proper Messenger Bag for my work stuff. It makes my day even on hot days. I go to work in the morning when its cooler anyway. Then I go home after 5 when I rarely get too hot in my leather jacket. The only time I don't ride is when it's closer to 100 degrees or when it's raining. That's the only time I drive. Whenever I drive I can't wait to get back on my 1125R. While I also love taking road trips on my sports sedan, I still prefer to be on my 1125R even on long trips.

So no my friend. The track is not all where it's at.}

I think I get it now. Cherry bomb, you are just an a-hole from another continent. We went to the moon because we have the Can-Do attitude. When you have that attitude you can do anything. OTOH, you sound like you have a negative attitude and try REALLY hard to find fault in anything. When you have that kind of attitude you will never amount to anything except criticizing those around you who have the courage to succeed where others fail. In my experience, the biggest critics always come from people who have the biggest fears.

I hate to break this to you now but, read up on current events. We WILL colonize Mars someday. We WILL be Energy Independent very, very soon. And we WILL have the most advanced electric vehicles of the future. We will do way more than just go to the Moon because of people like Erik Buell who never gives up and stands up every time people like yourself shut him down. Seriously, that is what America is all about. Can-Do. You can join us if you wish. Just please drop the negativity at the front door. Ok? }
