---Yesterday the mo co shut him down. 4 years after his first day on his own we have the RX. I think it's great and I know there's a big difference behind those B2 body panels and the RX. Some folks only look at cosmetics.

This comes in the same year HD releases the 'piss head, an innovation in motorcycling technology that now meets emissions and makes less HP and torque than last year's all new black. Maybe next year they'll think to cool the intake charge instead of just the exhaust....I hope they don't read this and advance their R and D. HD is good for some folks, just not me.

Thank you HD for shutting them down and Thank you Mr. Buell and Elves for getting right back up!

I think they almost already do. The more you dig into the XB platform, the more parts you find that cross over with Fords and other "off the shelf" parts.

I wonder how long until the used market opens up to the 1190RX... Hmmm...
I'm still more excited to see the street fighter and adventure versions! The wife might let me get the AX instead of a Goldwing... :-D

hmmmm my plan was to get a cruiser next year after the I get married. Might have a change of plans....lol

Time to trade in the 1125R maybe, or convert it to a track bike only.

Now if I could ever get my 1125R running again, I could think about upgrading

still think the brake scoop looks kludgey

^ Undoubtedly, but it's TEN more than the 1190RS. How cool is that?

The torque curve is amazing:

185 crank hp will equate to about 160-5 rwhp & 419lbs + fuel (ie. ~25lbs) will equate to about 444lbs - all great stuff but not 'game changers' in this market and with bikes like the Pinagale already here and the 1198 LC Monster, 1290 Superduke right around the corner.

Ironically the comparison to when Triumph debuted its yellow Daytona 600 (ie. 2002?) is a valid one - testament to how 'red hot' the competition is these days. Only when Triumph differentiated substantially with the 675, Rocket III etc and capitalized on their very own nostalgia (Bonneville) did they really carve a successful niche out of the market. IMHO EBR needs to strive hard to carve its own unmistakable identity which as I am sure EBR knows a tightrope walk between individuality and conformism. From 50,000ft we can see these identity marks in other brands;

Ducati; racing, red, sex
Harley; potato-potato, classic, bikers
Big 4; Affordable, dependable, everywhere
BMW; Quality, technology, asymmetric
Triumph; Triple howl, Brando & Mcqueen, Union Jack
EBR; Underdog, racing, ........??

The RX is of course is a huge improvement over the 1125 series and I am glad to see it arrive but I am hoping the AX and SX will head down a slightly more distinct EBR path. Just my 2 cents.

Some people sure are determined to hate that thing regardless of facts. That's your right and your business, but one wonders why you bother. They sound like a jilted ex girlfriend...

185 HP and 50 MPG! That made me laugh out loud (in a good way). It makes SO much sense, but is SO foreign to the current super bike flavor of the month. And they had the guts to stick to the single rotor because it is the right thing to do!

I love it EBR, GREAT work!

It's good power, there's little doubt. I wonder what kind of power and reliability will come out of a high-compression 1190 with a race exhaust and good tune?

Look at that dyno plot, it is insane! That bike is making like 60 HP at 3000 RPM.

Think about that... it would be like dumping the clutch on an GSXR 600 at 7000 RPM every time you pull off of a redlight.

What a hoot! Can you imagine riding that thing?!?!!?!

No wonder they have traction control....

Reep; Not to rain on your parade but: 185 crank hp will equate to about 160-5 rwhp & 419lbs + fuel (ie. ~25lbs) will equate to about 444lbs curb.

To be very clear, crankshaft hp will always be about 20 less than rear wheel hp and wet weight is oft reported sans fuel. These are still great #'s and I am not being pessimistic, just realistic.
