I had a barker and they told me they are working on a tune for more pipes in the future, but being as busy as they are im sure it will be a while.

AFR was really good, rear was a little leaner but it was very safe pump gas tune and we have crappy 91 in california.

It included everything needed, pistons, pins, clips, barrels, gaskets and even a build spec sheet with measurements of everything. It really is a "bolt on" kit.

I would also hold out until they get a tune for your pipe. I have their ECM software and good luck trying to figure out how to tune this thing. Its literally the engineering software they use to code the empty computer box.

Dean, do you mind if I crosspost this to sportbikez.net? The 1190 kit was brought up this summer (by our one other Buell guy) and they were interested....

Is that ECM specific to the 1190 kit, or is it the "normal" EBR race ECM? Are you currently running the stock intake/exhaust as a baseline? Are you going to do a Power Commander if you can't get it figured out? Do I ask too many stupid questions?

Go ahead and post it. I'm running the ebr ECM file for the 1190 kit. It's a tune matched for that kit and their pipe

Way to leave everyone hanging. I can't make out the hp/torque numbers from that video! Looks like around 150 or so, but that's just a WAG.

Hah, didn't look back a page. Pretty good guess then for only having looked at the video. Very good increase in power then.

Reuse cams, they do not have bigger cams for sale at this time. They will soon, and from what ive seen in the ama races cams and headwork helps tons.

Teaser Vid vs R1 lots more coming soon

I shifted out of 1st at 6-7k rpm this run to keep the front end down. Seemed to work ok but wish I could use all of first. The R1 beat me by 1 tenth traps were similar.

This is about what I'm getting from a 14.8:1 high compression 1125r, FYI.

It was blueprinted, decked heads, upgraded rod bolts so I can spin slightly past 11k, and assembled carefully (stock cams).

There's really not any power past 10.5k, but it can help save a shift.

My motor cost more to do than an 1190 kit, and I have to run race gas to keep it happy. The 1190 kit seems like a really nice way to get a little extra umph out of these motors without having it set-up like a full-on race motor with all the service and TLC that requires.

I kinda wonder what a high-compression 1190 build would bring. 160-ish?

I run it on 91 pump and I rode it to the track. two hours there an hour and a half back. They do sell high comp pistons with the 1190 kit but I street this bike.

sir_wadsalot this was really like my 3rd time riding the bike and 2nd actually trying to launch it. I ran a 10.5@133 to the R1's 10.3@137

There's better runs/videos but I'll have to post them later. Still on a belt and stock swing arm.

I ran 10.5@127 stock btw. But I used to be able to WOT shift into 2nd and redline 1st gear. Now I'm half throttle and shift at 7k, then 3/4throttle all through 2nd

I've been emailing EBR customer service to get more information on the big bore. They also mentioned the ARP Conrod bolts. I'm deployed right now so I can't look at my tach; what's the factory redline? I guess the stock conrod fasteners are "a liability over 11k".

also, you're still streeting the bike, right? can you let us know what the 1190 kit/exh/ecm combo has done for your fuel mileage, when you get a minute?

almost embarrassing to post these videos. I had almost no seat time, runs are very harsh. I will be going again this weekend. Ill have to use more clutch like an I4 bike now, its got to much power. No more clutch dumping and going WOT.

First launch ever on new setup, was going to use the 2 step but it was set to high
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avOwCjm8XhE

the rest of the runs are here. got some nasty headshake in one towards the end shifting into 3rd with the wheel in the air.

Its a street bike, looks almost stock even. I averaged 30mpg over 150miles to and from track and racing about 8 runs.

The exhaust is not titanium. I was also very hesitant to spend that much on a stainless pipe and not have the weight savings like a FMF Pipe that is Ti. But the quality of the EBR exhaust is amazing. Its worth every penny, sound, performance, fit, weld quality, mounting hardware, and looks.

The 1190 preprogrammed ECM was unavailable, so I emailed them and asked when they expected to get restocked with them. About 30 minutes later, I got a reply that they were back in stock and available online. Awesome customer communication. I love dealing with good Americans.

I asked about the factory clutch, headwork options, cams, and fastener upgrades. Here is their response:

Hi Jesse,

The stock clutch plates will not be a problem. However, if you plan on running the bike hard, it might be a good idea to upgrade to our heavier springs to increase the clamp load and decrease the likelihood of slip. The springs can be found here: http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/parts-accesso ries/clutch/1125-clutch-spring-kit.html

I think you would notice nice bang for your buck with our race exhaust system over the Barker. It’s not cheap, but its lightweight and the power delivery is very nice in conjunction with the Big Bore kit – very nice increase in midrange torque.

Headwork is always an option – we do not offer this service at this time.
Also, we do not have any cam options available yet.

ARP rod bolts are a nice upgrade as the stock ones can become a liability over 11k RPMs on engines that are run hard. We offer these, but they are not visible through the web store. You will need to contact me directly to purchase them.

Thank you,

EBR Tech Support

well the tech thinks the 1190 preprogrammed ECM is set to redline @ 11,000. Deanh8, can you confirm that? it'd be nice to not have to buy and install conrod bolts if I don't have to.

Jdugger, I have a similar build to DeanH8 in my pikes peak bike other than I was running 14.87:1 compression and 42mm ti intake valves (vs 41.3 stock) and 35.4mm SS exhaust valves (vs. 35mm stock), head is lightly shaved. Mine made 155.3 hp at the wheel on a dynojet on 110 sunoco and and 157.8 on VP MRX01 that I ran pikes peak with. These motors seem to be extremely tolerant of compression, which I am guessing is a function of their flat included valve angle and excellent tumble based combustion turbulence. Granted we were at high altitude, but the MRX was only 98 octane running in a 14.5:1+ compression engine. I wouldn't sweat running premium pump gas in a 13.5:1 engine.

I rode the EBR 1190 kit bike mule with 13.5:1 compression a couple of years ago at the drag strip lowered with a strapped front end and chain drive swing arm and ran 10.008 @138mph. Corey West recently rode the same bike at the same drag strip with a better tune to a 10.94 @138. I got a 10.97@140 on my pikes peak 1125CR lowered/strapped.

1190 kit is an awesome combination. Looking to get a little more out of it for next year at pikes peak.

Wes

It developed a leak at the oil pressure switch under the water pump. Very strange as I never even touched this during this build.
