Hi, I'm looking to buy an 08 1125R from a dealer. The down payment is in, the bike is mine, I just can't take her home until I have the rest of the money (tomorrow).

The bike has an unmarked aftermarket exhaust on it, and by the sound of the idle, I don't think it's tuned. I'd really rather get a pre-programmed ECU than the $750 programmable package, just because I don't know if I'll have time to do a good job, and I do know you can upgrade the ECU later to the programmable one.

I'm interested if anyone can identify this exhaust so that I can save myself a bit of trouble, but because it's unmarked, I really don't have anywhere to start investigating it for myself. I took some pictures and I hope someone can recognize it.

For a street bike, I actually prefer the stock exhaust, and after a few miles with a D&D, you might, too. It's outrageously obnoxious, even compared to most race exhaust systems.

Major drawback of the stock exhaust is there's no way to put a 190 tire (or even a 180/60) and a belly pan on at the same time, so it's not a good choice for the track since race rubber is mostly not available in 180/55 anymore.

well, that, and weight.

180/55 not available? Have you checked ebay? Internet? I see them everywhere.

Thanks everybody, I appreciate the replies. My last bike actually had a D&D too, so I'm glad to hear it.

I can definitely imagine I'll get tired of the noise eventually. But for now, I'm just excited to have a 1125R to ride around!

EBR doesn't offer a D&D specific option. Is there a good option to pick from the preprogrammed ECU's that will match well, or will I have to opt for the programmable/dyno time?

Redbuell, what have you done as far as tuning? Is there a good substitute on the EBR website? Or did you program it yourself?

That's the bike in general, with any pipe.

The D&D is right there with Armageddon. I don't know if the RT-3 is as loud, but my RT-3 is perfect for frightening children, awakening the dead, and eliminating any last chance an old person with a hearing aid will ever smile again. So if you're into destroying humanity as much as I am, enjoy!

For anyone interested, I actually opted to get a different bike. They had 3 1125's in stock, a black with slight mods, a bone stock black and a white one.

I went with the stock black one because I'm just not comfortable with a bike that's been ridden for so long with AFR's as high as 15.5 on the stock tune. Plus, I don't have too much faith in the previous owner who couldn't be bothered to spend 10 seconds on google to find out that he *really* should tune one of these before putting a slip-on on.

So I've got the stock exhaust, the bike is fantastic, but I'll be doing either a Barker or an RT-3 and EBR ecu ASAP. I'm not really dying to be just loud, but I hate the general tone of stock exhausts in general.

That in and of itself means nothing other than it globally adjusted for the climate _that_ bike was in. Sure, if it had a slip-on pipe on it, then you're right to be concerned, but if it had the stock exhaust, I wouldn't have thought much about it. Yes, it was pretty lean from the factory, but it was for the most part acceptable.
