I am on the search for side fairings.... Only place I've seen them is air-tech, any other options out there? I'd really like to find some that are manufactured black like stock plastics and not painted.

Flexi-glass. Trev can hook you up. There's also some factory lowers, but those may be harder to find. Ilmberger stuff is nice, but pricey. There's several others - Just do a google search for buell race bodywork.

You can still find the factory fairings, which are made black and match.

Ask Al at American Sportbike, he helped me find a new set

Ok, I just ordered the speed of color fairings! I'm super excited. Now i just have to figure out a color scheme to go with my ugly ass green wheels LOL.

I received the fairings yesterday and started to prefit them on the bike to see what they looked like. The condition I received the fairings in was definitely not %100.

This is the worst of it. Looks like the bellypan got dropped and then someone just sanded it down smooth. I'm kinda bummed about that, but it shouldn't show so much after paint. I had expected better after dropping $650.

Fitting it up is kind of a pain, as all the instructions are in german. That's ok though, google translate to the rescue!

I need a paint job now. Love the zas fairingz..had to cut the kick stand hole out, drill holes, rivet the fairing grills to the fairing and need to shorten lower fairing. I also need to build a bracket for the rear of the lower fairing too.

1125rcya, I got a set of those same take offs from Flexi-glass. When you say shorten the lower fairing do you mean in terms of length or height? I haven't test fit mine just yet so any insight you might have would be helpful.

Thanks for politely correcting me. That is a Flexi Glass Fairing.
I have an Barkers exhaust.
Shorten the lower fairing in terms of length, because half of the exhaust tip is blowing directly into the lower fairing. The exhaust don't smell good to me, and it makes for a real noisy ride in the cockpit.

Wow! - if you're bitchin about that very minor cosmetic issue on the Flexi-Glass, then you got some real bitchin to do about some of the others out there. I've used a number of vendors, and my experience has been that the Flexi's usually require a little wet sanding and they're ready for paint. Suffice it to say there's at least two or three other companies that don't fit at all without adding mounting tabs, doing lots of trimming and re-glassing, blah blah blah. (PM if you want to know) Trev's stuff is some of the better out there, IMO (not paid for this endorsement).

... not only that, those crack and defects are going to reappear every season, and you will be doing some layup over time to stabilize the glass.

It's just a reality of lightweight fiberglass.

Unbolt it and clock it up one turn? Yeah, it will be pointing up, but better than down into the pan. Another option is to drill new holes in the end cap to locate it where you want it.

Quit being a douche!
I did not say one bad thing about the flexi-glass other than I love it!

}D_adams thanks for the tip, I need to repack my exhaust, so I may try turning up my tip or even drilling new holes.}

Rpm4x4 I might start out by emailing twin motorcycles. I tried to use my sears mastercard and it got declined. Mastercard called me immediately afterwards to verify my last 5 transactions. I verified the transactions and then I asked Twin Motorcycles to charge my credit card in two payments to try and make it go through easier. The payments went through on dec 14, the parts shipped on Jan 8, and I received them on Jan 18. It took a little over a month to get here, but I knew that it would take some time from other posts that i have read. Also, I'm sure the holiday didn't help.

I would recommend it if you're willing to wait for a little bit. Shipping is only 20 euros, 25-30 bucks right now I think.
Two good threads on the fairings

I had a white 2008 1125r that I bought with salvage title a couple years ago... rode it for a while. It has the side fairings, but they are beat to heck, and cracked in several spots, and white... Ish! I has an accident on that bike when someone cut me off, broke my back and the bike is now getting certificate of destruction, so naturally i kept the side fairings to put on the next one. I have my next one, and one day at work, at Peterson's Harly-Davidson of Miami, I was killing time soo I looked up the side fairings, found them at a few dealers across the country, and ultimately purchased from Corpus Christie Harley-Davidson... $35.81 for shipping, and, get this,1 for the parts! I say all of this because if you are looking for a set of side fairings and your dealership doesn't have them have them call around, they are out there, and they are cheap!!!!!
